National Defense Authorization Act. (Liberty end)

Under the ‘worldwide indefinite detention without charge or trial’ provision of S.1867, the National Defense Authorization Act bill, which is set to be up for a vote on the Senate floor this week, the legislation will “basically say in law for the first time that the homeland is part of the battlefield,” said Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), who supports the bill.

The bill was drafted in SECRET by Senators Carl Levin (D-Mich.) and John McCain (R-Ariz.), before being passed in a closed-door committee meeting without any kind of hearing. The language appears in sections 1031 and 1032 of the NDAA bill.

The New National Defense Authorization Act Is Ridiculously Scary
David Seaman, Credit Card Outlaw | Nov. 30, 2011,

Fellow entrepreneurs, Americans, anyone who still cares about this country at all -- this is a must read: By the end of this week, the US government very likely will have the power to lock up US citizens for life at Guantanamo Bay or other military prisons -- without charge and without trial. This means that, in the near future, a controversial Twitter post, attending a peaceful protest, or publishing an anti-Congress critique or anti-TSA rant on Google+ could land you "indefinite detention" for life, in the wording of the bill. No access to a lawyer, no access to trial.

Yes, you read that right. This would target American citizens, on American soil. Military personnel would be able to come into your house like something out of a Tom Clancy novel and chopper your innocent self down to Guantanamo Bay for life.

Details: There is a scary provision in the National Defense Authorization Act (fiscal year 2012) which is typically passed by Congress each and every year to continue funding our military operations around the world.

FYI, you can't impeach Senators.

Yes but for this one time, I will agree with Krazy Kat on the issue that our own representatives are working against the very foundations of American rights. The suspension of Posse Comitatus and Habeas Corpus are serious issues, way beyond many of the temporal problems we are dealing with as a result of the Obama travesty...these are issues which crack the very foundations upon which this nation was built.

Impeach ? If they can't be impeached (nope...they can't....recalled maybe...) then there must be a way to compel them to reject this sort of erosion, this potential disaster. I won't say 'the word', but the acquisition of power, and the retention of power can get very very precarious and dangerous...and it is the very possibility of civil uprising which we are ENTITLED to do, with equipment guaranteed under Amendment II (and hence the left's insistence the populace be disarmed). This is something we SHOULD fight over...this is something which can result in violent regime change....and the problem is that the dolts running this circus trust that they can do this without consequence. These are dangerous times, my friends, and the enemies of freedom and liberty are working overtime.....there's no surprise a demokrat's got his filthy hands in this....and a 'moderate' scumbag who should be old enough to know better but whom conservatives have rightfully distrusted for years is also an accomplice. Both are disgraces and should answer for this garbage because if this is not criminal, I don't know what is.

It's called the court system. Congress has the right to pass anything they wish. The president has the power to sign any bill into law. The supreme court decides whether it's constitutional.

Our problem comes in when the supreme courts forget they are constrained by our constitution.

Well then I will. We are over due for a revolt in this country. I would prefer to see that in the form of a tax revolt. Our government has simply gotten out of control.

True. It also does not help when the media, who have the freedom they have so that they can act as a watch dog rather than an advocate, forget that they are to be an *impartial* reporter of facts.

Vote them out. After the first few go down the rest will start to work for the people just so they don't get sent packing. Right now they don't have any fear. Re-election is about like a rubber stamp.

I think some of them are afraid. One of our senators, Stabenow a rabid liberal, is up for reelection. She has a huge amount of money compared to any chalenger.

Because of this, the Republican Party puts up a sacrificial lamb to run against her at every election. I think she could be beaten if they would run a realistic candidate who could attract the right amount of campaign contributions and voter support. They need to give her a reason to be scared.

I'm not too worried about it. If there kicking down your door and taking you away in the middle of the night. I would say theres a reason for it. Don't think they'll be kicking down grandpa charlies door anytime soon. More then likely they already have a hit list and just getting stuff legalized before they move in. But you nor me will ever hear about it.

We have 1 representative and 2 congressmen. I won't be voting for any of them when they come up for re-election. None had the courage to buck their partisanship during the debt crisis. Plain and simple they put the party ahead of the country. Sounds more like communism than a democracy....then again they are all liberals.

That's as ignorant a statement as I think I've heard on this board.
THe fact that you can be declared a terrorist without evidence, just on the say-so of the president who is a marxist at best, is the exact OPPOSITE of what we stand for in this country. But I'll play it your way...are you a hunter ? You are a potential sniper. You go to gitmo on Obama's say-so. Are you an NRA member ? You are a potential anti-government terrorist. Go to Gitmo. You associate with the traitors on this board ? You are a seditionist. Go to GITMO. NOW do you get the picture, scooter ? One is not necessarily deserving of having their door kicked in just because they take exception to the president being a POS. Maybe the president's eco-terrorist buddies will decide that if you have wood-burning fireplace, you are an enemy of the planet. Go to gitmo. You need to read-up on Posse Comitatus and Habeas corpus. Oh wait....you're reading seditious materials....if you're caught, you could be declared a criminal and held....
