Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Question December 7, 1941

On this date the ***anese Empire attacked the United States. The war with ***an ended when, then President, Truman ordered two atomic bombs to be dropped on two different ***anese cities.

This action saved the lives of the many thousands of Americans who would have died in an invasion of ***an as well as the many thousands of ***anese who would have died in such an invasion.

I wonder if any of our current political leaders would have the guts to do that today.

We haven't had a president with stone since then. There is only one reason to ever go to war TO WIN!

I wonder just how much Truman or anyone else for that matter realized at that time how much devastation the a-bombs would yield? The decision to launch atomic bombs in a war situation happened only those times and served as the ultimate threat.

Well he had to have known, they tested it in New Mexico before they dropped them on ***an so he knew darn well what he was doing. I agree with sachiko if he had not dropped those bombs who knows how many more American and ***anese soldiers would have died before they surrendered. It is a tragedy that it came down to such destruction but in the end it was the better alternative in my opinion.

Obama certainly would!
This man is a Commander in Chief!

Bush? he'd still be in a classroom somewhere..., we all can't deny Obama is a stone cold killer! Bin Laden, Pirates, Qaddafi, etc...etc...

Prior military experience certainly isn't a requirement for a commander in chief, intelligence certainly is.

If obama was president when Pearl Harbor was attacked......he would have call up the ***anese Emperor and apologized.......saying it was Americas fault that ***an attacked and we got what we deserved ....... And then surrendered......Obamas a Coward.....

Yup you are right I checked it out and they tested a full strength test model similar to the ones they used in ***an. Hard to believe all that happened 66 years ago here in the US and there are still countries trying to build one and can't.

Yep it is definitely hard to believe how long it is taking them to even get close to our ancient technology(no offense intended to anyone). The only reason I knew of this testing was because I watched a special on the Atomic bomb on the history channel. It was very informative, and I learned a lot.
But what is really scary to think about is what if the German scientists of the time had not been pushed into our country by the maniac named Hitler? Germany probably would have developed the Atomic bomb, and they are the father of the modern rifles of today from the M-16 to the Model 70. We may very well have not been the super power we are today if another ruler had been in charge of Germany during World War 2. But this is all speculation of course, and all just my opinion.

But everyone forgets that Bush did get Saddam Hussein who just so happens to share names with old Barrack Hussein Obama. Also Bush is the one who put Bin Laden in hiding scared to death that he was going to be found and killed by the US military. Plus you don't go out and kill the buck of a life time by sitting in the stand one day. You have to put in the hours and just wait for that buck to do something stupid. Bin Laden just took awhile to do something stupid. Obama gets the credit, but I honestly don't think that it would have mattered if it was McCain or BHO who was in office. Bin Laden finally screwed up and we got the SOB regardless of the coward in office.
And you liberals throw a fit when Bush attacks a country that has attacked us, but pat BHO on the back when he attacks a nation that has done nothing to us? I am sensing a lack of reasoning hear, but it could just be me.
