How much do you even know about pepper spray, and/or the law? Obviously little to nothing.
The "protesters" were breaking the law, period. The police are (normally) allowed to use reasonable force. The protestors failed to comply to a lawful order.
I have a hard time believeing the spray was full potency, because there was no immediate reaction from anyone. I've never been sprayed, but my brother has--he had to as part of his law enforcement training. He didn't get a little fog from several feet in his general direction, he got a full-force blast straight to the face for about 15 seconds at close range. Then he had to sprint and "arrest" someone. He recieved no medical attention--water was available. It took about 15 minutes for the pain to disperse. He was also tazed as a part of his training.
I've been in a mace "gas chamber" as part of my military training. The way my brother described it, it's very similar to pepper spray.
Now, you have criminals failing to comply to a lawful order getting a tiny dose compared to what military and law enforcement personel have to go through just as part of their training, and the libs are going nuts?????? I guess libs don't serve in the military or as LEO's.
That this has become such a big deal is utterly stupid.

These protestors and "occupiers" are beginning to bore me. Why not use firehoses?
Y'know....that's the part about the video that I noted but could not put into words...it was eerie but none of them even twitched....I can only conclude they received a 'token' amount, a 'TASTE' to coin a phrase, and none of them moved. A bat and a hungry doberman would have been better, IMO.
Heck, if thats the case, if you really wanted them to move, cops should have thrown some C-Rats ham and eggs on them, you could have timed their forty then.

That or maybe some of "original" MRE's with that chicken ala king loaf...I wonder how many soldiers had to go through therapy after biting into one of those things....

First, I am pretty sure pepper spray does come in different levels of potency. Second, the real stuff like LEO's use here does NOT "just burn your eyes". Like mace and tear gas, it also burns any exposed skin. I've grown peppers in the garden that burned my skin when cutting them up.
They (Fox) said some of them (protesters) went to the hospital after being sprayed. I say that's bogus and a stunt. If the spray had been that potent, or if any of them had been allergic, there would have been a reaction in the video.
Even on the second pass, I didn't see anyone get even a combined spray of a full second. The can was obviously about empty at the time, and fogging even at about 4'. This stuff is usually packaged to be delivered at a longer range, in a stream.
There is NO WAY it was anywhere near as potent as the tear gas soldiers in the U.S. Army were (and may still be) exposed to as part of Basic Training. I was exposed to it--I don't care how "tough" you were, you wouldn't just sit there.
If it's not too "inhumane" for our soldiers and LEO's to have to endure (in much higher doeses), there is no reason for the whining and crying about a bunch of punks that were not complying with a lawful order getting a tiny spray.

We were using the "pepper balls" out of a paintball gun one day, shot a tree with 3 of them about 15ft away, the wind caught the powder and came our direction. Just a couple seconds of it and we were heading the other direction quickly. There's NO WAY someone could just sit there while being sprayed with full OC...if they could, then screw 'em and spray 'em some more!!

I can eat just about anything, but that ham and egg meal just turned my stomach BAD! Nastiest food on the planet, just the smell would make my blow chunks. I would "literally gag" on sight and smell.
