Our congress has lied to us again. The debt commission, silly as it is, can't seem to come up with 1.2 trillion in cuts over 10 years. Idiots! Our national debt will equal 100% of GDP this year. It will sore to 25 trillion in 10 years or less. SS, the 75 year old ponzi scheme is now in the red and collapsing. Medicare now has people only paying for 50k worth of benefits yet receiving 150k worth of services. Even the most conservative estimates of these entitlement programs have 62 trillion in unfunded liabilities. The 550k/ American house hold.
I forgot to add, the federal burden on our economy this year is 25%. That's a quater out of every dollar you earn goes to pay this bloated government and keep federal workers fat in bennies most don't have a chance to earn.
The game is over. Living on the backs of your kids, can't continue. We need tough love to begin tomorrow. Institute means testing right away and allow everyone under 40 the freedom to opt out. The American public can't do any worst investing than Obama and Solyndra.

Well election time is coming; if we don’t get rid of the idiots in Washington it’s only going to get worse. Funny how all the freebies and handouts catch up to you.
.....well, we have folks, and I am surprised to say this, who would stay home rather than vote for Romney, a mormon. So from among our own ranks comes the means of our defeat and ultimate dissolution as a nation. We cannot survive another 4 years of the ghetto rat and his destructive policies.
Worse, we have people who will continually vote for the likes of Schumer, Pelosi, Reid, Boxer, Sheila Jackson Lee, and this ilk....these also rot the country but also indicate where the dry rot has settled......east....west....and all big cities. Too bad.
I think that would have been more accurately stated as "While we all bicker about Penn State..."
It is pitiful. Nobody wants to be the one to take the blame. None of them have the guts to do what needs done. It's the nature of politicians.

Case in point. Two local state representatives, one from my district, swapped over from dem to republican just a few days after the election. The reason? For the first time in many years (since sometime in the 1800's), and they want to be on the side that's in control--they said as much. They expect two more to switch soon.
IMO, if they wanted to switch, they should have done it before the election. Choosing to be on the winning side after the game is played ain't cool. Liable to be lawsuits because dems spent a lot of money getting them elected just to have them turn. I think it's funny, ironic, and fitting...but it doesn't make me put any trust into the ones that did it.

Here's an idea--if they can't come to a feasable solution, every one of them on the committee (both sides) should be barred from ever running for any public office, and barred from any type of job remotely related to the gov't.

Phil Graham did it right. He made the switch from d to r and reran claiming it was the right thing to do since voters put a d into office.

The right thing to do was to either continue to do the job as elected or resign. If he wanted to change parties, he should have waited until the next election and simply ran on the opposing ticket, rather than force the state and the counties in his district to foot the bill for a special election.
