Default Who Will Survive the GOP Death march??

This was an interesting article that makes you think a bit. I've quoted part of the article which has an inserted link to the rest of the article. What do you guys think?

Who Will Survive the GOP Death Match?

Rick Perry’s desperate and well-funded attempt to climb back from the bottom of the GOP pack, and the Republican establishment’s inability to accept Herman Cain or any other outside-the-box candidate as their nominee, portends a very messy finish to the fight for who will carry the party banner against President Obama.

Why do I predict that things will get bloody, not better in the weeks and months ahead? Here’s why: polling in the single digits usually dooms a candidate to obscurity in a crowded field. But former frontrunners – particularly former frontrunners with money in the bank – have a hard time throwing in the towel. They tend to only get meaner the further they fall. Under that rule, it looks we won’t be losing sight of Rick Perry any time soon and that spells trouble for Mitt Romney.

In fact, I expect things to get so bloody that I can’t help but compare it to a political murder-suicide plot. I call it that because in this scenario the candidate is determined to annihilate his or her rival even if it means they wind up killing their own political hopes in the process.
In 2004 I was running the Howard Dean campaign for the Democratic nomination when America witnessed Dick Gephardt performing the last political murder-suicide in a presidential campaign.

Still too many candidates at this point in time and yes they will prolong the agony of the inevitable by throwing mud. What is needed is an early leader who can and will defeat Obama in 2012. Until the GOP numbers get down to just a couple it will be hard to focus on a winning strategy. It looks to me like Romney might eventually get the vote and I wonder if he can be elected. I do wish Perry had conducted a better campaign up to now. Perhaps he will get stronger towards the end. Probably too late in the game for another candidate to surface so if it came down to just Perry and Romney to do battle I think the voters would find a way to field an electable candidate.

I was listening to some stats about the last election earlier today. McCain's numbers at this point in the race were dismal, yet he got the nomination.

I agree with CI that it's too early to tell. I'm hoping Newt pulls a rabbit out of his hat, or Cain manages to do something spectacular. I'd vote for Romney way before I'd vote for bho (I'd vote for my mule before I'd vote for bho), but he's probably at the bottom of my list as far as viable candidates go.

I liked Perry at first, but now I'm not to sure. We need a staunch Conservative in the White House--once he gets the economy back on track, the illegal problem will just get worse and will need delt with more than ever.

Ditto that. We should all be so lucky to live to 105. Thanks for the story.

I had an uncle that survived two German death marches--he wouldn't say much at all about it, but from what I could gather their treatment was inhuman. They survived on things like dead dogs, grass soup, etc. If you fell behind you were shot and left lying. And, according to the accounts I've heard, the ***anese death marches were worse than the German.

He passed away a few years ago--he was in his 80's. He took most of his stories to the grave with him. Understandably he didn't want to re-live the atrocities he suffered through.

I'm still going for Perry. I couldn't care less whether he can debate or not. I'll probably write him on on election day, especially if Romney is the nominee.

Yeah, I read about about Captain Brown's death a couple months ago. Some said he might've been the oldest WW2 vet, let alone the oldest Bataan Death March survivor. Requiescat in pace.
