Thirty percent of OK kids are on food stamps; this is a truly sad thing. It's an indictment of OK, its politicians and we voters.
The economy here totally stinks: It's been that way for decades. The OK legislature it impotent when it comes to legislation aimed at attracting industry. No company is going to re-locate to a state with one the sorriest school systems in the US. Companies will not pay to haul raw materials and finished products over expensive toll roads. Despite the repeated overhaul of workers comp laws, many workers still scam the system.
OK politicians said if we passed right to work companies would flock to our state. We passed right to work and no one came. The GM plant on OK City closed. The tire plant in eastern OK closed over 20 years ago. Dozens of smaller companies left the state.

The OK legislature gave 20 million dollars to a startup Chinese company that promised to build a defunct British car in Waurika. It didn't happen, of course.
