Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Gotta love Missisippi

With worst economy in the union, with the lowest standard of living in the union, with the largest per capita welfare in the union, these boneheads have decided THIS is their number one problem.

Quote:
In less than two weeks, Mississippi will vote on an amendment for its state constitution that declares "The term 'person' or 'persons' shall include every human being from the moment of fertilization, cloning or the functional equivalent thereof." Proposition 26, aka the "Personhood" amendment, would, as the NY Times puts it, "would ban virtually all abortions, including those resulting from rape or incest. It would bar some birth control methods, including IUDs and 'morning-after pills,' which prevent fertilized eggs from implanting in the uterus. It would also outlaw the destruction of embryos created in laboratories." And there's a possibility of it might "even open the door to investigating women who have suffered miscarriages."
Mississippi has the third highest teen birth rate in the country, the fifth highest maternal mortality rate, and fifth highest rate in STD transmissions. It is your standard 3rd world hell hole. What better way to accelerate plummet into a welfare ghetto state than by forcing the teenagers, welfare queens, felons and other assorted riff-raff to have children?

Hockeydad:

Along with most other southern states, MS is a net welfare state. MS receives $2.02 for every dollar it pays in federal taxes. You are paying to support that MS lifestyle.

Let's give the people of Mississippi a big hand. Some people understand that killing unborn babies is not a good thing.
