Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Media Silent About Crime Drop in DC

I know that neither the result or the media's silence will come as a surprise to many members but...

It sure is fun to see this happen and be able to tell people "told ya so."

Media Silence Is Deafening About Important Gun News

By John Lott
Published September 30, 2011
| FoxNews.com
Murder and violent crime rates were supposed to soar after the Supreme Court struck down gun control laws in Chicago and Washington, D.C.
Politicians predicted disaster. "More handguns in the District of Columbia will only lead to more handgun violence," Washington’s Mayor Adrian Fenty warned the day the court made its decision.

Chicago’s Mayor Daley predicted that we would "go back to the Old West, you have a gun and I have a gun and we'll settle it in the streets . . . ."
The New York Times even editorialized this month about the Supreme Court's "unwise" decision that there is a right for people "to keep guns in the home."
But Armageddon never happened. Newly released data for Chicago shows that, as in Washington, murder and gun crime rates didn't rise after the bans were eliminated -- they plummeted. They have fallen much more than the national crime rate.
Not surprisingly, the national media have been completely silent about this news.

Or they do have a clue and gun laws are not so much about reducing gun violence but controlling the people. Take away the peoples' means of defense and the people become dependent upon government services (police) for protection.

Not that the Left would ever try to enslave the people...

You're absolutely right. But many people still stupidly buy into that "blood will flow in the streets" nonsense.

I can understand how some women are repulsed by the fear of any kind of violence or potential violence.

The real problem is the girlymen who fear being called upon to take responsibility for protecting themselves and their families. I don't understand that.

Cal, you cant even get the main stream to report on the Fast and Furious hearings. Investigative reporting is nonexistant unless it serves their leftwing agenda.

It is pretty simple Stephanie, they are afraid to. Or so it would seem.

I see it in terms of a much larger, more sinister effort. THe socialists and Marxists lying dormant in this country, enjoying the freedoms granted under our constitution, intend for ultimate dominion over us. The removal of firearms from the general population is step #1 because THEY are the very people those firearms will be used AGAINST. We already have a Manchurian President, what else is in store for an unsuspecting public still under the belief that we will prevail and that laws will continue to secure us.

The LAST thing they want, is for the general populace to become aware that they can successfully secure themselves with their own weapons, and that the lifting of restrictive
firearms laws actually does drastically lower the rates of violent crime. Imagine what those
statistics, and a rise in gun ownership (not old codgers buying MORE guns, but New young folks buying for the first time) will do if the enemy attempts to make a move to consolidate power in this country, like suspending elections for our own beneft.....
