in the primary, Mr.Cain has my vote. From the 'on the issues' page,
Quote:
* 9-9-9 plan eliminates several taxes while creating 1 new tax. (Sep 2011)
* 9-9-9 economic plan: 9% income tax + 9% sales tax. (Sep 2011)
* Federal government taxes too much and too often. (May 2011)
* Abolish the IRS; implement 23% national sales tax. (May 2011)
so which is it ? A 9% sales tax or a 23% national sales tax ? Seems to me
that paying $123 for a $100 item is a bit much....but that's inconsistent.
Also, a sales tax whether it's 9% or 23%, must be capped....or once the demokrats get back into the congress (IF they ever get back !), that tax can be increased to fund all kinds of foolish stuff.....still.......he's got my vote.

Herman is awesome. I've been enjoying reading his positions for years. He's a very smart guy.

He comes across as the ONLY candidate ready willing and able to talk NUTS AND BOLTS of any of his plans, while the rest speak in generalities. That's miles and miles ahead of any of the others. Why is he not a front runner ? Are we letting the media pick our candidate AGAIN this election cycle ?

No, I wouldn't say that. People are stupid. They would rather watch American Idol instead of caring how other people are spending their money and limiting their choices.

Look at HD positions. He's the poster child for clueless.

I agree. But I really think the media have their favorites, and they shine more light on those candidates. I guess it's hard to determine which came first though; the media's favoritism or the people's choices.

From what I've heard, Herman's 9-9-9 is a progressional step plan. He supports the Fair Tax, and he would like to see it implemented after his original 9-9-9 plan has been going for a while. The 9-9-9 plan is designed to immediately spur economic growth and help create jobs by lowering individual tax rates and those on businesses (the one's that hire most people). The Fair Tax is the 23% national retail sales tax...all other Federal taxes would then be dumped if it were enacted. The Fair tax also has a prebate for the basic necessities of life. Every family would get a check for those necessities every month. Sounds good to me. BTW, the Fair Tax was developed after several months and 20+ million dollars worth of research indicated it was a "better" solution than a Flat tax.

Herman Cain sounds like a really good guy. He definitely knows what he's talking about.

But sadly (this is just my opinion, OK?) he won't get the vote.... The black people have pretty much disowned him and called him an Uncle Tom, or worse - a "house n****r".

but blacks are Democrats staying on the plantation. He's not going after their vote this round. This round is about conservatives for the most part. Fortunately the chowline hasn't been forming so the independents don't know who to vote for in the primary.
