Talk is cheap. They are pitching an unfalsifiable argument. We are not in a great depression, hence Obama/Dems prevented us from falling into a great depression: how can you falsify -- show to be false -- that argument? Human civilization has not been destroyed by an astroid impact -- I saved us from that astroid impact. Thank you, thank you very much! Please hold your applause! Unfalsifiable. As such, unfalsifiable arguments or statements are -- as no doubt any intelligent person can sense on their own, perhaps without the fancy language 'unfalsifiable' -- worthless and empty. They are political subterfuge.
Hey, we are all going to hear a whole lot of rhetoric coming from Democrats and Obama during the next year. Get used to it. What else do they have to run on, the truth? a track record of success? accomplishments? Give me a break. I didn't take a stupid pill yet today.
We have some pretty serious problems, problems that affect people immediately. Under these circumstances, people stop accepting cheap talk and empty rhetoric and start paying deep attention. My bet is those people are not going to be taken in by this rhetoric as they were in 2008. But hey, who knows, that is what elections are for. If we knew in advance, we wouldn't need to hold campaigns and elections.
