Since almost every election in the recent past has been won by the party spending the most money, how do you go about beating Obama when he will have a billion to spend on his reelection?

Will he really have a billion? Second, do you really think the right will be broke come election time?

Not sure if it will be a billion have heard that reported my many news agencies including Fox, drudge. I don't think the right will be broke don't think they will raise that kinda of money especially when they won't have a candidate for quite some time .

Well it's like this. Obama announced a billion dollars not to ward off a republican challenger because he will have one and they will have money backing them. He did it to ward off any democrat that would think of challenging him.
Obama is in serious trouble right now and it's not getting any better for him. Our economy outlook has just been downgraded again and we are looking in the face of a recession if you ever thought we came out of the last one.
What's Obama doing? Vacationing in in rich whitey's backyard. He did think far enough ahead and cancel the fund raiser scheduled there this weekend though.

CharlieP, I really don't think that all the money in the world is going to help him one bit, and I'm not trying to be a smart AZZ, I think he's done so much damage to the country nothing will help him.
What does money buy you? A nobody can become a somebody by paying money to have his face and voice splashed all over the place. Obama doesn't need that and will not benefit from that.
You can use your money to get your message out there -- clever advertising pointing out how it is Bush's fault, Obama inherited a bad economy, Obama brought us out of the receission but 'bad luck' then struck. All the stuff you hear in the media already. Now, to some extent this can be useful . . . but repeating the same lame, empty message probably isn't going to help much. Really, Obama has the problem that his words are just not credible any longer, and no matter how many glitzy, polished, well tuned videos he puts out there it probably isn't going to help much. If he had not so OVER EXPOSED himself heretofore, the war chest of campaign money might have a purpose.
But who knows. It is better for Obama to have more money than less money. How much money does he have? Just because he says he has $1 B doesn't mean he has $1 B. Do you believe everything Obama and his minders tell you? Like "If we pass this stimulus bill unemployment will not go over 8%!" I don't believe everything. And I think there is a pretty shrewd insight provided by Fieldmouse in his speculation that this is directed more at his potential Democratic opponents than Republicans.

Obama will lose on his record. He did not have one when he ran in 2008, but he does NOW ! And its not anything to be proud of.
Even if he comes up with a billion bucks to run his campaign, I believe it will be like casting seed upon the stone...pearls before swine...it's not going to matter. People will vote AGAINST him, regardless of who the republican candidate is. I do not believe democrats will turn out in the numbers they did in 2008, and I do not believe the independents will be all fired up to vote for him either... I do not believe it will be a runaway for the republican but I don't think Obama will win...he's mucked the country up too badly.
Maybe he could have a chance if he took all of the money he raises for his re-election campaign and puts it towards the national debt... Even then, I still would't vote for him, I'd just say, "good for him"

One billion dollars, even if he's able to choke that much out of his idiot democrat supporters, is a fly-spec in comparison to 14 trillion. He'd be better off taking that billion bucks and buying votes. In all likelihood, he's 'done'. Blacks won't vote republican, they'll just stay home on election day. Same with all but the hardest of hardcore democrats.
The independents will split.....40% stay home.....60% vote republican....or some such division of that self-serving vote.
