US Inquiry Eyes S&P Ratings of Mortgages

It's in retaliation for the S&P downgrade of US debt bonds. All of the ratings agencies lied about the grade of bundled mortgage instruments; Holder knows that. This is petty politics at it's very worst.

Mortgages are getting more complicated. The market of today, is vastly different from that of a decade ago. With just a few key strokes, a lender can enter, the borrowers information into an automated underwriting system, and take light years off the application process.

I guess the OWH crowd is anticipating the GOP claim that under Obama's 'watch', we got downgraded for the first time in the history of the republic. I'm gonna say that's criticism that's going to be hard to refute, especially in light of all the other 'success stories' the admin is taking credit for, for which it had little influence other than to be 'dopey on the spot' when it happened...heheheh....
