Default Where are the jobs? Bush Tax Cuts....??

Bush Tax cuts aren't cutting it!

No surprise because stupid republican ideas like lowering taxes on the wealthy don't create jobs!!

The only poor and middle class the repubs care about is cheap labor.

You are pretty much an ...Deleted by CalHunter.... If you went so stupid you could do just a little bit of research and see those tax cuts went by far to the middle class. That means nothing however when you can make up the facts or get your facts from Bill Maher.

If tax increases worked so great then New York and California would be rolling in them but people and companies are leaving those places because of high taxes.

Why do you libs want to blame the rich for people being poor? Why do they owe you anything? I keep hearing the rich get richer and the poor get poorer....tell me how Bill Gates can keep you from getting a trade or education to get a better job. Tell me how they keep you from starting your own business. There is money out there for anyone that wants it if they want to work for it or take the risk. It makes be sick to hear crybaby liberals blame the rich for their pitiful lives. Get a life.

Where is your evidence. Put up or shut up. Bush had record unemployment and rising wages with more people moving up in class. So quit your talking points.

Sal, I think you hit every branch on the stupid tree when you fell out didn't you. All CREDIBLE evidence points to the contrary.

Also, lets not forget that nearly HALF of Americans don't pay income taxes at all.
So I have to wonder where you think that the rich aren't paying their fare share.

Well, where ever those jobs are being created, don't expect to see them in good ol' Illinois, my home state that I left at the age of 25, now 30 years ago. Also, you probably aren't going to see them in California, New York, Michigan. More than likely there are other states that likewise are not good candidates for job growth. Texas, however, is a good place to see job growth. No doubt there are other states, too, that can be expected to experience better than average job growth.

I'm constantly surprised about how people hunker down in places that are clearly, categorically BAD places to live from various points of view -- economic climate, real estate values, education quality. I understand when you are 40+ years old and you have planted roots like a house and kids in school that don't want to be separated from their homes. But you don't get to be 40 years old without first being 30 years old; you don't get to be 30 years old without first being 25 years old.

Back to the Bush tax cuts. I think it will be very interesting should the day come when the Bush tax cuts expire. This has been portrayed by the left as a tax break for the rich. The rich are getting the most benefit from this tax break. Well . . . it depends on how you calculate that. Granted, in dollar value, the rich save more money. But here is my prediction. When the lowest earners see their federal income tax rate change from 15% to 19% (19/15=1.26: 26% increase); when the middle earners see their federal income tax rate change from 25% to 29% (29/25=1.16: 16% increase); and the upper earners see their federal income tax rate change from 35% to 39% (39/35=1.11: 11% increase) there are going to be some MIGHTY PISSED OFF people in that lower income bracket. They are suddenly going to perk up and read the small print of this demogoguery pushed on them by the Democrats. Why sure, the rich got the biggest break in terms of absolute number of dollars . . . but it was more than a little duplicitous of the Democrats to omit to characterize the benefits enjoyed by EVERYONE. I think that will be interesting to see.

As someone who is burning through enough cash to buy the new car my family really could use right now in an attempt to bring and idea to market which would created hundreds and even thousands of new jobs, Sal, would the government be better off with that money instead? Do you believe Obama has a better idea that would produce better results than I?

When you post things like this, it makes me very happy that, although I was accepted to attend, I turned SIU down... and, apparently, they've been in a steep downhill slide ever since.

Not totally true. The powerful are given the freedom to do what's best for freedom, when they choose poorly freedom suffers/government grows. You can't blame someone who gives the powerful the chance to do what is our only hope.

Unless the powerful do what's right no amount of tax laid upon them will be the answer. It's always been in the hands of the powerful because much is required from those who've been given much.

Please reconsider those statements. Honorable Husband is an SIU alumnus and he is thoroughly ashamed of saluki's posts. He wishes to assure all members here that not all SIU alumnae are totally devoid of intelligence and reasoning ability.
