Default Congress Approval Rating Hits 14 Percent

Congress has had a low approval rating for decades. Now it is
on the level with whale crap at 14 percent. Sure would be nice if the voters threw all the pukes out of office next year.

That's just irrational thought.

I asked CI this question and got zero response. So let's see if you can step up to the plate. You have the Republicans attempting once again to pass a balance budget amendment. You have the tea party members attempting to put a cap on this out of control spending. Then on the other hand you have the Dems just flat out want more borrowing, zero spending cuts and higher taxes so they can increase spending. Where do you stand? If not for cut, cap and balance, how much more debt are you willing to absorb?

I'm all for bouncing Mitch McConnel and Boehner out of there but why call for the tea party folks who voted no on this debt ceiling crap that just passed?

Agreed ! I also think that number is a combined House/Senate approval rating....which one bears more weight ? For my money, while Boehner sold us up crap-creek with his compromise bill, they DID produce a couple bills with decent cuts in it that Dingy Harry tabled. So I wonder if it's the democrat Senate that's dragging those number thru the floorboards ?
At any rate, I'd dump McConnell...and while we're at it, that old ossified trashbag known as McCain....gawd what a stinker he is !

no doubt. He attacked the Tea Party with language he refused to use against Obama during the campaign.

There are problems in the republican party. There are too many career hacks ensconced there...and they need to be replaced. Every national democrat needs to be shown the door. FOr right now, I think Tea Party candidates stand for the kinds of things we know are good and right for this country. The deal-makers need to go...and they can't go soon enough. RINO's should be anathema...why does the party not expel scat like that ? IF it does not change their ability to make appointments to critical committees, if it does not compromise their majority standing...GET RID OF THEM. PUBLICLY. I'd certainly go for that...as an inducement to other republicans to tow the line...

I agree that there are problems in the Republican Party. I would like to see an end to this practice of bipartisanship. It seems as though I am continually seeing some one being praised for being "bipartisan."

When we vote Republican, we expect the guy we voted for to go there and promote a REPUBLICAN position, not bipartisan agreements with those loathsome liberals.

Sorry to add fodder to your fire by not getting back. You probably never realized that I lost internet service for the most part and only occasionally could even get email. And that was before I went on vacation to Colorado. When I got back I had no service and it took them over a week to come out and fix it. I wouldn’t recommend Globalnet to anyone. Glad to say I now have the internet back and it was as simple as lowering my dish receiver about 4’ so the current water level out front wasn’t interfering with the signal. If you don’t understand that then you are right there with me…..sounds like crap but I went from about 33K bits to 1.5- 2.5 million. I have absolutely no use for even one of the Democratic Party and that goes all the way from the rooky Congressman in first term all the way up to Chief Bonzo and his buffoon second louie. While I agree the only saving grace for the whole bunch are the tea party leaning GOP, none the less they all failed. Sure there are some good ones out there but in reality they didn’t have what it took to go the right path and take care of business. I saw a news piece that there were a group of 5 or 6 rooky GOP house members who were bucking Boehner and Co. They were still idealistic and said they refused to be part of the problem and wouldn’t vote for Boehner’s bill. The had the stones to stand up for what is right but still couldn’t take on and defeat that corrupt establishment we have elected. I know you think I am narrow minded FM but from my seat they all eat dog crap. I can’t see how any one, two or even a group of people can fix what is wrong. The elected officials need to be made aware that if they don’t do a good job they will be fired through the ballot box or via an impeachment process worse case. I feel the Legislature failed the American people and therefore need to be fired….all of them. Perhaps the next group will pay closer attention to the people and the constitution rather than their own party.

I guess you missed the last election and didn't see the massive beating the Dems took as well as establishment Republicans. Long time, what was thought to be conservative republicans lost reelection to folks who never were in politics. Republicans recaptured the house. They completely dominated in the state elections (700+?) which in fact are the most important piece of the puzzle. The republicans now control the redistricting in something like 35 states. Now is more than ever the time to get involved to ensure the right folks make it back to DC and fix this mess. Not all need to go but certainly between now and say next sept, we'll know who needs to be replaced.

I saw the beating the dems had and my vote was one of many that made that happen. People come and go but the major players usually remain and that eliminates any chance of change. Incumbents are very hard to unseat, especially if they have been in office for a while. Party leaders on both sides would be the first to go. I would rather take my chances on new blood before they get the taste of corruption and the power to enjoy it. Unfortunately they usually remain and pass that bad operating practice to all who follow.
