Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Anyone else really pissed off regarding this debt deal?

Where was the open debate? Where was the 3 days posting for public review? Why was the American people shut out of this deal? Why does everything have to be a crises?

i agree. None of them deserve to stay in office. I vow I won't vote for an encumbent at least until after 2012. I would like to see someone start an internet revolution to throw all those bums out on their partisan asses. If an idiot black man can get the masses to vote him in then certainly people can ralley to get them all defeated when they come up for re-election.

CI, not all deserve to be voted out. However, those who did vote for this pos, really do. We got screwed. Time will tell if I can give them my support again.

Well...it certainly didnt take long for Moodys to re-afirm our AAA rating. Considering what we were fed by the talkin heads, one was lead to believe we were on the cusp, about to fall into the Abyss of doom. Somehow I get the feeling that someone somewhere knew exactly what the chances of that was, and they aint talkin.

Paul Krugman thinks it's a horrible deal, so... The Republicans must have gotten something right...

I am disappointed. At the same time, people who are probably more politically knowledgeable than I am maintain that the Republicans did about as well as they could have and avoided some bad things. Where would we be if taxes had been increased? Where would we be if the Republicans had forced this, the economy took a nose dive, and the Democrats and Obama sold the narrative that the economic pain was due to the Republicans? Then Obama would be reelected, the Democrats might maintain a majority in the Senate, maybe there would be another liberal US supreme court justice on the court, then the court swings predominantly liberal 5-4 versus conservative 5-4 as it has been now for many years.

These same analysts say that this issue of spending is going to dominate the 2012 election. Additionally, Obama OWNS the economy, and this is going to sink him. Sure, I would have preferred to curtail or halt this bleeding of red ink now. But I will accept a Republican president and a Republican house majority (better still if there is a Republican senate majority in addition).

We live in the real world. The real world rarely deals us a royal flush or even a full house. We just have to keep drawing cards.

Yes we did so I'm told. However, it sure smells like the short end of the stick.
