Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Sorry. Can't even finish it. Brown's comment. We need to move the country forward by digging a deeper hole.

It's a shame the 'moderate' senator from Massachussetts was given the bully pulpit as a 'tea party' candidate and as a 'republican'. He represents neither.

My question.... supposing the Reid plan makes it out of the senate (it's not expected to),
does anyone have a clue about what Boehner will do to address it ? My understanding of the Reid bill is that he extends the spending until after the election, and makes cuts to military spending; something folks might not want to do with 3 wars on 2 continents..... What cuts ARE made, are still inconsequential in the 'grand scheme' of a 14,000,000,000,000+ debt....

Its all finger pointing now, too late to worry over a down-grading. More to do with posturing before the election. Barry needs 4 more to drive the final nail home.

Just maybe those congressman who voted against the Boehner plan were doing what their constituents back home wanted them to do. What a novel idea: Do what the folks back home want. Democrat and Republican Party unity got us 14.5 trillion dollars in debt.

Why do you think Reid is not letting bills that have passed the house come up for a vote? I'm sure there are at least a handful of Dem. Senators who would have to choose between their constituents and Obama/Reid. Reid can't afford to have it come up for a vote. All the while, he is saying that they (house republicans) should compromise. He is saying this from the position that unless you do what we want, It won't get voted on in the Senate.

I believe there has been way too much compromise already.

None of them are doing the job they were elected (hired) to do. I would put them all on the same page as a used car salesman.

Do you all realize that freezing speeding so it doesn't go up one dime next year not only is "against" the law but would also be called a 10 trillion dollar cut over the next 10 years?

I have to ask FM, What law requires our government to spend more year after year?

Spending has gone up (IIRC) on average about 6.5% every year for multiple years, some as high as 13%.

At most we need to decrease spending every year. Not have it averaged out over 10 years.
