Default Obama Bans Some Bullets

Elite Ammunition says that the BATFE has told the company to stop selling their Trident bullets in certain calibers. Elite claims that the BATFE has re-classified some rifle calibers as handgun ammo.

This happened years ago when the ChiCom steel core 7.62x39 ammo was banned from import: Someone chambered a handgun in that caliber.

The ban affects handgun ammo only. It bans bullets made completely from beryllium copper, bronze, tungsten, steel, iron, or alloys of these materials.

Yep, its's another cop killer bullet scare. Obama is pandering to his anti-gun base. It's also an attempt to get folks minds off the administrations criminal element that peddled guns into Mexico.

In response to an illustrious member's repeated calls to "show me the laws," on prior occasions, I posted the following:

Cut and pastes from prior posts...

Are you paying attention? Have you seen who he has appointed to the Supreme Court? Do you know what happens if he gets to replace one of the more "conservative" justices? Have you heard the statements from his staff and DOJ about doing things with gun laws that bypass Congress?

Quote:
“As the president said, we should focus on sound, effective steps that will keep guns out of the hands of the criminals, fugitives, people with serious mental illness, and others who have no business possessing a gun and who are prohibited by laws on the books from owning a gun,” Justice Department spokesman Matthew Miller said. “We will be meeting with stakeholders on all sides of the issue to discuss how we can find sensible, intelligent ways to make the country safer.”
So, once you get past the felons and the mentally ill, who gets to decide who those "others" are who "have no business possessing a gun"?

Well, let's explore a bit further. There's this:

Obama Looking For Ways Around Congress on Gun Policy

First Posted: 03/15/11 04:33 PM Updated: 03/15/11 04:33 PM

With Reporting By Lucia Graves
WASHINGTON -- Faced with a Congress hostile to even slight restrictions of Second Amendment rights, the Obama administration is exploring potential changes to gun laws that can be secured strictly through executive action, administration officials say.
Apparently, he thinks HE is the one who gets to decide. Him, and that ASSCLOWN, Cass Sunstein, an anti-gun, anti-hunting extremist. Appointing that idiot to a position of power ought to be reason for impeachment.

It boggles the mind that any sane person could vote for someone like this. The Supreme Court's support of the 2nd Amendment dangles by a single vote, and several of the justices with the correct view of the 2nd Amendment as an individual right are approaching retirement... We know Obama's agenda. We know what type of people he will appoint to the high Court. And, we know what will happen to the 2nd Amendment if he gets re-elected. The use of the term might be tinged with hyperbole, but, I consider ANYONE who votes for him this time around to be a traitor to those who support the 2nd Amendment.
Quote:
I didn't say Obama was stupid. He appears to be taking a two-pronged attack. First, long term, he knows that he can do a lot more damage to the 2nd Amendment via the idiots he appoints to the Supreme Court. All he needs is one conservative resignation and the 2nd is done. He's already appointed two antis. Another Supreme Court appointment, and he'll influence 2nd Amendment interpretation for the next 30-40 years. He can do far more damage that way than via legislation that can be changed by Congress every couple of years.

Short term, "administration officials" say they are exploring changes to gun laws that can be secured strictly through executive action. Stuff that doesn't get nearly as much notice as if he was trying to push an AR ban through Congress.
In response, I was told this:
Quote:
That sounds paranoid.

No anti-gun legislation submitted or enacted, huh?
So, I was called "paranoid." Now, it appears that what I posted was precisely true. Obama IS, in fact, imposing restrictions affecting our 2nd Amendment rights based on solely on executive action.

I'll await an apology, though I won't be holding my breath...

In the meantime, I'll have to be satisfied with a heartfelt and smug "I told you so..."

Oh oh...now you did it. I remember a thread a couple of years ago in which members actually questioned the utility of the NRA. To me, that was the height of ignorance because as far as 'gun rights' goes, the NRA is the 'only game in town'. Sure there's Neal Knox's group and I'm sure there are a few others out there...but none with the clout of NRA.
Basically, the way I see it, if it were not for NRA, U.S. gun rights would today be non-existent.

WE MUST STOP THE FLOW OF WEAPONS TO MEXICO!!! WE MUST GRANT THE POLICE THE AUTHORITY TO REVIEW ALL TRANSACTIONS TO ENSURE THAT U.S. GUNS ARE NOT KILLING INNOCENT MEXICAN PEASANTS!!!! WE, THE POLITICIANS, KNOW WHAT IS BEST!!!! WE WILL SOLVE THIS PROBLEM!!! TRUST US!!!!

Oh.... wait.... It's the police and the politicians doing the smuggling...

Hey guys and girls:

This may be a bad post. i can find nothing on the web to substantiate the allegation that those bullets have been banned except the link to Elite ammo: Nothing else. There's nothing on the BATFE website. These guys threw down the BS flag:
