Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

There is nothing this POS will not visit upon our heads. We can only hope the next president will rescind that order and disband the organization it creates.

Cool

We need to remember that the Dictatorship of the Proletariat really involved dictating TO the proletariat.

We are witnessing during this administration what will go down in our history as the institution of Marxism in our country.

This wouldn't be so bad if it were not for the fact that Marxism has failed so miserably everywhere it's been tried.

I personally think this administration is just another in a continuous string of administrations - democratic and republican alike that has slaughtered our civil liberties in favor of large corporations, banks, and directing us to the new world order of a socialist world government.

I am betting this piece of legislation, (passed during the Weiner's Weiner distraction and even the republicans kept quiet), is intended to be on the books when the Obama administration starts price fixing grain - just as was done in the 1970's, due to the Fed printing so many dollars causing an inflation problem. But this time, the inflation will be massively worse (keep in mind in 1970 we were still a net creditor nation - now we're the largest net debtor nation).

So as they price fix and farmers can't afford to plant, the government simply slips in, takes the land "for the public good", and gives it to a large corporation who will farm it.

Its terribly sad but this problem exists in both parties.

I'll remind all of you of Thomas Jefferson's words...."there will come a time when we must all chose between economy and liberty and we MUST choose liberty or we'll find that controlling economy through inflation and deflation (created by a central bank) that we will lose our liberty and find ourselves and our children living on the streets on the very land our forefathers fought to free."" (OK I paraphrased - but you can look it up).

I know what Kool-Aid is, but I've never had any. I think some religious fanatic persuaded a bunch of his followers to drink poisoned Kool-Aid. That's carrying religion a bit too far if you ask me.

I don't think drinking Kool-Aid is ordinarily all that harmful.

Excuse my ignorance. If the administration fixes grain prices, can't farmers just sell their crops out of country? There is a very eager international market for grain. I understand individual farmers do not do this -- they sell their grain to the local grain elevator at the price the local grain elevator offers (of course, they can also do some sophisticated commodities trading on their grain these days I believe). Notwithstanding, if the local market price is too low, my guess is it will seek more munificent markets offshore. What is erroneous about this expectation? Thus, to do what you mention, Obama or others would have to repudiate the free market model.

But I'm with you that government pricing fixing is riff with unintended consequences that need to be avoided at all costs.

Kool-Aid is a powdered drink mix to which you added water and sugar.
Later on, it came sweetened, but it was always a 'kids drink'.
Jim Jones' accolytes committted suicide with cyanide-laced Kool-Aid.
I guess Kool-Aid was selected so the little kids would drink it.
