Default Obama Wants TX Execution Stopped

Yep, TX is about to execute another Mexican and Obama is po'd. Mexico is whining that the scumbags rights unders some obscure international treaty were violated.

i hated it when Bush II intervened on behalf of another Mexican murderer on TX death row, and i hate it now. The POTUS needs to keep his long snoopy nose out of state rights issues.

BTW: The perp that Bush went to bat for was executed anyway.

President Obama is asking the Supreme Court to stay tomorrow's planned execution of a Mexican citizen in Texas, arguing it could do "irreparable harm" to U.S. interests abroad.

In 1994, Humberto Leal Garcia Jr. was convicted of rape and murder and sentenced to death. Few doubt that he's guilty of the crime, but an omission in the handling of his case may make things tough for American citizens arrested abroad: Leal wasn't told that he could contact the Mexican Consulate.

Too bad he has no say in the matter. My question is where was he when holder was shipping guns to Mexico?

The murdering scumbag had been in the US since he was 2 years old. I wonder whether he even knew he was a "Mexican National" prior to being told by counsel that it might save him from the ****tail injection. And, what were the police supposed to do? Profile him? "Gee, dude... You've got a dark complexion. You must be some kind of Mexican or something. Do you want to contact an embassy?" Give me a break. This guy raped, brutalized, tortured a 16 year old girl, then murdered her by bashing her skull in with a 30 pound piece of asphalt. Within 5 minutes of conviction, he should have been taken out behind the jail and... POW... One behind the ear. $0.25 for one round of .45 acp. Instead, we've spent millions on room, board, defense attorneys, a dozen appeals. No wonder we're running budget deficits.

EVERY person who comes to this guy's defense now is a traitor, a moron, or some combination of the two.

Falcon: The previous murder you described happened in a park where my wife, kids, and I used to go for walks, on bike rides, to jog, picnic... Bush was an utter fool to come to that scumbag, low-life, assclown's defense as well.

Good on the state of TX and governor Perry.

There is something really putrid about a president of the US who comes down squarely on the side of a murdering scumbag.

Well presidents do deal with international matters and there was some reason there for him to step in. However, he didn't do it for the right reasons. He saw another vote going down the tubes.

Another real-world action by Obama to throw in his teeth come the 2012 election? His position might be applauded by the die-hard Democrats . . . but what about the center and the independents?

The US Supreme Court was asked to stay this execution on the chance that the legislature MIGHT pass a law on this subject. Their decision -- 5-4 (doesn't that give you a lot of confidence? Doesn't that make the importance of choosing Republican presidents over Democratic presidents palpably clear?) -- was that they are empowered to rule on law as it is now not as it might be. An interesting point -- I read somewhere that such a law has been offered several times before and has not been passed by the legislature. What are the chances a Republican House majority would pass this kind of legislation? Pretty slim.

What game was Obama playing? The US Supreme Court itself calculated that this wasn't really going to be the sort of thing that foreign governments are going to cite as a lack of US compliance with international court procedures. C'mon, look at the facts in the case. The guy had been here since he was 2 years old? He probably is a US citizen. The evidence in the case was abundantly clear.

Well, now the guy has paid the price for his actions -- more than a decade after his victim was buried.

Oh No! We are in trouble now! Maybe the great one should fill in for his morning wake up call.
