Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Bigbulls,

Would he legalize drugs? That would do more than just about anything to stem the tide of illegal immigration. The drug war has turned Mexico into an unlivable hell hole. More people have been killed over there (28K plus) in the last three years than we lost in both Afghanistan and Iraq. Nobody wants to live in counties run by violent drug gangs. Legalize drugs and stop the madness and stem the tide of illegal immigration. I JUST BLEW YOUR MIND WITH A TNT LOAD OF LOGIC, COGENCY AND COHERENCE!

Legalizing drugs here would be about as effective as attempting to shut morons like you up. Now, shove that up where your logic lives.

Fact is, there will ALWAYS be a venue for illegal drugs; if you legalize them, the government will tax them. People will buy them but quickly find that ILLEGAL drugs are NOT taxed by the government and if the drug cartels are smart, they will undercut the government prices on drugs to keep their bottom line going. Moron.

I had considered cleaning up at least my small part of the world by banning hockey-puck....he's the biggest puke pile I ever saw...but tearing him 'a new one' is just too much fun. I encourage all to jump onto the bandwagon. He's the best straight man since Bud Abbot, the most handsome guy since Shemp Howard, the smartest guy since Zippy the Pinhead, and the most athletic Alpha Male since Roseanne Barr.

I'm usually inclined to agree with you, but in this case you may be wrong. When the 18th amendment becaime effective, adult beverages were supplied illegally. After the amendment was repealed, the illegal market dried up.

Unfortunately, the organizations which had been supplying adult beverages illegally, switched to providing other illegal activities, gambling, prostitution, and drugs.

I have a suspicion that, if drugs were legalized, the members of the organaizations now supplying drugs would not quit and go to work picking tomatoes.

I do not see the drug market drying up under any circumstances. THere's too much invested by the cartels for them to just 'give up' their source of income, power and influence. There's not enough money in Prostitution, loansharking or smuggling untaxed liquor. These are things they can't export here...but CHEAP drugs would be entirely within their purview to produce and distribute. If gov't cocaine runs $75 a gram 'plus tax', Colombian cocaine at $60 which is just as 'good' as the gov't junk would sell faster to cash-strapped junkies.

(BTW- I see you did not refute my 'evaluation' of hockeypuck....hehehehehehehehe )

Ok, now for a another shotgun blast of wisdom to the face.

After ending the drug war, the next logical step is to revise NAFTA. NAFTA deprived more than 2 million Mexican farmers of their livelihood. It has been a disaster for Mexico.

Illegal immigration has been problem largely created by American policies that have made Mexico an uninhabitable purgatory. Enact policies that help Mexico instead of cutting its legs out.

This idiot's idea of doing anything short of shooting illegal immigrants probably involves high fences and a police force of 100s of thousands. Doing "anything" means actually thinking creatively about solving a problem. Would this dullard even consider the two highly effective solutions I have suggested. Hell no, they make too much sense. I can think of other highly effective solutions, but this in-the-box moron would oppose them anyways. He has one idea in his tiny little jello-filled brain and one idea only. Militarize our borders at enormous cost to the American taxpayer (in freedom and money) and turn out country into more of a police state.

Well said. Government is not the answer, how many years has the war gone on?
As a boy I was very hard on people who smoked. One day I was in a bar watching people suck on fire and it dawned on me I'd never tried it so I shouldn't be so harsh, must be something to it. I bought a pack and smoked 3 cigarettes, couldn't breath right for a week. I was right there are idiots, but freedom gave the the chance to know it. Might have been thrown in jail otherwise for trying it if it wasn't a legal right. Proud to say I've been smoke free ever sense.
