It will be the Northern Pike. He is reliable and accomodating. He does what he is supposed to do. He is where he is supposed to be when he is supposed to be there. He never fails to respond when he receives the appropriate presentation.
Today I saw him in the shallows of my favorite lake. It was good to see him again. He is there every year at this time and he did not fail to rise to the occasion when I showed him the buzzbait this afternoon at 7:30 pm.
He is powerful and noble.
We need more like him.
I would have chosen the Musky but he is a fickled character that only shows himself when you least expect him. Although he is even more powerful than the Northern Pike, he is not to be counted on and therefore not to be trusted. He has let me down too many times in the past.
The only problem is, they are perhaps, a bit too predictable. Throw a flashy lure to them and they will hit it under almost any circumstance except in August. Then they seem to get lock jaw and will hardly do anything. I think we need something with the muscle and the teeth to back it up but not quite as easily caught. Perhaps a big Brown?!?
I would like to nominate my buddy Mr. Smallmouth, strong, stocky and reliable, as with vc' s nominee ready to strike when approached properly, not sly, cunning or elusive like many other candidates, nothing fancy needed to get what you want.

Tiger muskie for VP, Smallmouth for President. Largemouth can be the president' s speaker, musky his sec. of defense...walleye gets to be head of CIA, and the brook trout is the hott lonely intern[]
I' m more inclined to vote for the common variety worthless house dog.
They know they have no real " worth" in the real scheme of things, but they will defend you and yours to the death.
There are many other breeds that command a higher dollar, but few others that will stand by your side when it is " crunch-time"
They don' t expect a " hand-out" but appreciate when you throw them a scrap.
If you don' t have a scrap to throw them, they are likely to bring something home to eat...They will probably bring you something that you would' nt actually WANT to eat...but the thought is there...It IS, after all your responsability to provide the food.
If you don' t want to talk, they have enough sense to shut-up and leave you alone.
If you DO want to talk, it does' nt matter what you say...they will not repeat it.
It IS, after all your responsability to provide the food
No no they are to dependent then & big craping michines whos manure is good for nothing? Also get spoiled by humans... they get cornfused& they dont watch the dog food commericals etc)
