Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Cool Atlas Shrugged

It's a book by Ayn Rand. Honorable Husband suggested I read it. He read it some time ago and many of you probably have too, but it was new to me.

He said that many of the ideas in the book seemed extreme at the time he read it. But we are now seeing the same kind of breakdown of our society led by the liberal thinkers and the unions that the book describes.

I was appalled to see that our society's losers and whiners are now our primary leaders just as the book describes. It's scary.

I've heard about this book several times, and now I believe the movie is out.

I guess I'd better finally read it. I've heard some say it changed their lives.

Unfortunately, I think the movie bombed. It was in two or three parts I believe.

I have not read the book or even heard of it until now. I may have to read it although a little googling presented an interesting plot question.

Cool

A central point of the plot is unreal to the point of being silly. But I was impressed by the way she laid out the slow but sure destruction of society under the leadership of the liberals and the unions. I can actually see it happening and it makes me uneasy.

I think the real life version makes a lot of us uneasy and many are left wondering how to correct the problem with our current system which seems designed to continue going downhill. Obama and the democrats have engaged in creating a class warfare situation and it has been successful to a degree. The Tea Party is a good start to waking people up about our country, economics and government waste but it will probably take a lot more to correct the problems. Chasing after symptoms instead of concentrating on fixing the core problems appears to be a national problem with government, politicians, the media and, unfortunately, many of our citizens. People are starting to wake up but there is so much more to learn and apply.
