You can add to that list a whole bunch of "smaller" things that add up. Such as:
Ethanol subsidies
The NEA (National Endowment for the Arts)
The CPB (National Public Radio, Sesame Street, etc.)
The EPA (Environmental Protection Agency)
BATFE - do we really need a whole government agency for this? Alcohol and tobacco can be regulated by convenience store clerks, firearms by gun store owners. The explosives? OK, I can see the need for a few fed employees when it comes to explosives.

lol its obvious that this is just against Obama, and im sure they have a side to this story too...but this makes it sure seem like its easy.as far as this thing goes, i cut em all but social security, cause my ma and pa are fittin to be on it, and they paid their whole life for it...not to mention my grandfather in law...who jokes that i need to work to pay his social security check every month.

Everyone is chomping at the bit to cut everything as long as it doesn't affect them. No matter what it is. As soon as you start talking about doing anything to social security or medicare the old people start screaming and then the politicians jump on board and act like the "other" party doesn't care about them.
This is the number one thing that must be looked at if a serious effort is to be made to save our country. It will never happen however and the entire country will go down the tubes and go belly up because no one will ever have the guts to do anything meaningful. We can nibble at the little things and make it look like some real effort is made but it will mean almost nothing in the grand scheme of things.

It is no joke. It's called ponzi scheme. sS and Medicare are nothing more than general revenue tax. There is no separate system and never can be. It's all about the redistribution of wealth. Knowing these facts and if you believe in LIBERTy, why would you continue either of these systems? They. Fall way short of their stated goals and will never work because it's other people's money.

We need to cut every thing including defense. Several useless federal agencies should be eliminated. Eliminate the Dep't of Homeland Security, the Dep't of Education, the Dep't of Energy, the Dep't of Commerce, consolidate HUD and HHS, and eliminate several of the so called "intelligence agencies.

I would also like to see more line item information instead of just some token generic amount of money that doesn't tell me anything other than somebody at Heritage was lazy when they put this survey together.
