Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Greatest Ideal

The Republican Oath

I believe that the proper function of government is to do for the people those things that have to be done but cannot be done, or cannot be done as well by individuals, and that the most effective government is government closest to the people.

I believe that good government is based on the individual and that each person' s ability, dignity, freedom and responsibility must be honored and recognized.

I believe that free enterprise and the encouragement of individual initiative and incentive have given this nation an economic system second to none.

I believe that sound money policy should be our goal.

I believe in equal rights, equal justice and equal opportunity for all, regardless of race, creed, age, sex or national origin. I believe that persons with disabilities should be afforded equal rights, equal justice and equal opportunity as well.

I believe we must retain those principles worth retaining, yet always be receptive to new ideas with an outlook broad enough to accommodate thoughtful change and varying points of view.

I believe that Americans value and should preserve their feeling of national strength and pride, and at the same time share with people everywhere a desire for peace and freedom and the extension of human rights throughout the world.

Finally, I believe that the Republican Party is the best vehicle for translating these ideals into positive and successful principles of government.

Sounds like an American oath to me not limited to the Republican party.

I believe the Democratic party is the most corrupt institution in the United States today.....and the Republicans aren' t much better.

I' m seriously looking for a third party that actually can show some weight in the voting. Being a Libertarian is a very lonely thing.

I don' t see anything bad in there and I believe that even the socialist demmies believe some of it but practice nowhere near enough of it.

Vapodog , It is interesting you mention this third party thing. Regardless of which one is indicated as the third party, it is in times like this that a third party hurts itself more that helps the people.
Think back to how Old Ross screwed with the election and klintoon got in the door for 8 years. Just recently Tommy Thompsons brother ran as a Libertarian in the race for Governor in WI and a demmie socialist got in because the conseravtive vote was split. That has already started a small revolt here. If these 3rd parties wanted to do some good they would work with the party they share the most in common with and get something done rather than split the vote of people so closely aligned, giving the power to usually the demmies. The demmies, I beleive just love to see this and promote it when possible.
I always tell the libbies that cross my path to vote for that green party. It helps split their vote. The only problem is most demmies vote the way they do because either there granddaddy was a dem and their daddy was one and the union boss says to vote that way " so' s it mus b rite" . It hard to change a mind so set in stone

You are soooooo right logs. The only thing I can add is the dependance on freebies. This actually has dwindled down some.......but they haven' t forgotten how easy it was.
