Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Yeah Newt... see ya later....

Heres a shocker.... NOT! As of right now... the only difference between the two parties is the symbol and a couple of token diversion issues... Until we get some complete new blood and the guts to support them... we will get what we got...

If you can't see any difference between Newt Gingrich and Barack Obama, perhaps you should stay home on election day.

Yes, there is quite a difference between Obama and Newt. Just for starters, lets consider the kind of supreme court justices Newt will appoint versus Obama. Did that consideration cross your mind? While Obama has consistently nominated activist justices who apply very strained, liberal leaning constructions on the constitution, Newt would likely appoint justices who interpret the constitution as it is written. There is a process under the constitution for adapting the constitution to modern needs -- it is called the amendment process. We have approved many amendments to the constitution. If the need is pressing, the fundamental document can and will be amended, without the necessity of distorting the construction of plain language.

With reference to Newt and the medicare/medicaid issues. Hey, how entitlement reform is handled is far from having a single solution. There's lots of room in that issue for disagreement among intelligent, reasonable men. Sure, Paul Ryan has a plan. It isn't necessarily the only plan or the best plan.

Now if you can successfully persuade me that Newt is a socialist who wants to increase the basic scope of government -- as Obama has abundantly shown is his game plan -- then I'll start agreeing that he isn't my candidate. I'm not saying he is my candidate now, but there are a number of things about him that DO attract me. He is smart. He knows how to handle himself in the scrum that is US politics. He can debate well. He has name recognition. If a better candidate percolates to the top, all the better. But as of today I'm not throwing him back into the water.

Al while I agree with 90% of what you say. Its really easy to say the Repubs will do this and they will do that. However WHAT have they actually done in the last 15 years that has changed where we are headed? Same destination slower pace doesnt really make me real excited...

Well to start with, they successfully appointed Chief Justice Roberts and Samuel Allito to the Supreme Court rather than liberal activist judges. How would Heller have been decided if these two justices were replaced by liberal activist judges, as either Al Gore or John Kerry would have appointed? How would the City of Chicago handgun case have been decided? Important.

I am, once again, a candidate for Empress. I'm running for that office since, according to the Constitution, I am too young to be president.

I'll be announcing my complete platform shortly. Stay tuned.

And I hope when I get to be your age, whatever that is, I can still tell the difference between Newt Gingrich and Barack Obama. I have hope because my husband is older than I am and he can still tell the difference.
