said it before and will say it again, something is wrong when Martha Stewart can't own a gun for being a felon (for lying to a fbi agent, when police officers are legally allowed to lie to suspects/anyone for that matter) and that psycho in AZ can legally purchase a firearm.

Here's my concern, back in Jan. of 2002 my wife lost her only child, her son, he was only 27 years old. This of course sent her into a period of grieving, great stress, and depression.

She was offered grief counseling, which she declined, but she was issued a prescription from her doctor to help her deal with her stress.

It's been over 9 years now and she is still working threw her grief which is to be expected, and she has done so in a very admirable way. You think you know someone, then something tragic happens that changes your whole life. Before this tragedy I never new just how strong my wife's character really was. To this day I can't even come close to imagining the pain she felt on the night that he died. Not to mention the grief she has carried all of these years. Yet she is stronger of character than ever before.

But things could have just as easily gone the other way. Some might have had to gone through many years of therapy to help them cope with such a tragedy. So if my wife had to have gone threw that therapy would she then have been banned from owning a gun for the rest of her life?

Mental illness is a slippery slope. Some come by it inherently, for others it is triggered by life's unfortunate experiences. To set arbitrary standards in regard to mental health and gun ownership isn't a good thing.

McCarthy and Schumer are both certified blithering idiots. The good news is the house version, H.R.1781, has only 36 co-sponsors and it ain't going anywhere. I doubt that Harry Reid will let it get to the floor of the senate.

First of all, sorry to hear of that travesty, give her a hug for me I can’t even begin to imagine her loss. Laws like that are only a beginning to gun control, if they pass that law you can bet your sweet bippy that others will follow. The government has proven that if you give them an inch they take a mile and never quit taking. The Democraps are not going to be happy until we are a socialist country.

Cool

It's pretty hard to tell in advance who is going to lose it mentally. This is just designed to put another hurdle in the path of someone who wants to exercise his/her second amendment right.

During the Clinton reign the VA gave the names of about 85,000 veterans with PTSD to the FBI National Instant Check System. From that point on those vets were unable to purchase a gun from a dealer.

Now old Chuckie and McCarthy have taken aim at veterans again. The very same veterans that jarring Janet Napolitano; head panjandrum at the Dep't of Homeland Insecurity, warned us were potential terrorists.
