Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Latest Stupid Web Rumor...

Apparently some members of the tinfoil hat brigade think that George Soros is buying up the U.S. gun and ammo industries...

What a bunch of halfwits, eh? This really says a lot about how crap gets spread on the net. The first article cited has two parts. One in which Soros' acquisition of significant food chain holdings is discussed, and a second in which Cerberus' acquisition of gun/ammo companies is discussed. Some moron makes the jump that Soros owns Cerberus and, voila, a bunch of tinfoil hat wearing folks think there's some big conspiracy going on, and all of a sudden, internet bloggers start posting about "Soros-owned Cerberus Capital" as if there is even a shred of proof... Incredible.

Here's Cerberus' website. With an ego like Soros', surely he'd have his name on it somewhere? And, Soros wouldn't hire conservatives like Dan Quayle and Jack Snow to run it...

http://www.cerberuscapital.com/

Here's some of the "proof" cited in one of the articles... a list of folks at a debate:

Quote:
Ibrahim S. Dabdoub, Chief Executive Officer, National Bank of Kuwait, Kuwait
Angel Gurría, Secretary-General, Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), Paris Nandan M. Nilekani, Executive Co-Chairman, Infosys Technologies, India; Member of the Foundation Board of the World Economic Forum John W. Snow, Chairman, Cerberus Capital Management, USA George Soros, Chairman, Soros Fund Management, USA Joseph E. Stiglitz, University Professor, Columbia University, USA
Thing is, the assclown highlighted the wrong thing... Should have been like this:

Quote:
Ibrahim S. Dabdoub, Chief Executive Officer, National Bank of Kuwait, Kuwait
Angel Gurría, Secretary-General, Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), Paris Nandan M. Nilekani, Executive Co-Chairman, Infosys Technologies, India; Member of the Foundation Board of the World Economic Forum John W. Snow, Chairman, Cerberus Capital Management, USA George Soros, Chairman, Soros Fund Management, USA Joseph E. Stiglitz, University Professor, Columbia University, USA
A guy by the name of Stephen A. Feinberg is the real founder, CEO and owner of Cerberus:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Feinberg

Feinberg is a "prolific donor to the Republican Party." Frankly, if someone thinks Soros is behind Cerberus, "idiot" is a gross understatement.

Yep, more trash from the tinfoil hat wearers. Wonder how long it took for some idiot to come up with this one. Trying to reason with idiots like that is akin to wrestling with a stinky boar hog in a mud hole. You get crap and mud all over while the hog loves it.

survivalmonkey is always good for a belly laugh.

Haha... I just signed up over there, to dispute their claim. I've got 1 post, and am a "probationary member..." I suspect my probation will get revoked...

Ipsy; neither of us will ever get off probation. The Badministrator will have both of us for lunch.

Hey, Falcon... FYI, I posted some additional info on SurvivalMonkey. They have now "rescinded" it as mere "internet rumor" and locked the thread...

Now, off to educate the folks at ConservativeActivist... and then a thousand other tin foil hat sites...

Beautiful!!! A crusader for the truth is never out of work.

BTW: Cerebus recently purchased Barnes bullets, Dakota Arms and Nesika Bay: This may be what set off the tinfoil hat brigade. Dakota Arms was near bankrupcy. Nesika Bay makes bench rest actions.

Rev, i never started that one; it's been around since last winter. Wish i had thought of it though. The tinfoil hat wearers are putty in the hands of a good rumor monger.

Ain’t that the truth, and there’s certainly not a shortage of those tinfoil hat wearers, the problem is that most of them are in Washington!

Well... ConservativeActivist.com has come around to the truth... after a minor misunderstanding about who was participating in "an adult conversation", and who might not be around for long...
