Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Bammy's ticked that the wildfires are slowing down the movement of illegal aliens into the USA. Might be a coordinated effort by the state to control it despite federal authority over such matters....hehhehehheheh

Dang I got confused when I read this thread. I misread the title and thought it said "obama hates taxes". I thought it was going to be a joke.

and with no respect at all...TeXaS hates bamy!!!!
with respect to alabama...in no way do our fires compare to the 250+ dead in bama. fire is natural. just like yellowstone...they let it burn down when lightning struck, and its back to being plush green again. act of nature in my book. the lands way of fertilizin itself.
a fire fighter came up with a nifty lil product make from the stuff in a diaper, ya hook it to the water hose and spray it on your house like fertilizer. wont burn even in contact with a torch. where is the truckload of this stuff at?

I spent the weekend at my lake house (the first time we allowed in since the fires). Our area was lucky to have missed the fires, but we took a drive this afternoon to Graham, and the devastation is beyond words, we also went on Texas16 South towards Strawn, and the beautiful Palo Pinto mountains look like a bomb went off. I understand that those involved in the tornados in the south are a priority, and rightly so, however our pled went out two weeks before when we needed help with the fires, not until the fires were almost all contained did the feds take over, and they were pure @ss holes to the local volunteer departments that worked tirelessly for almost three weeks. As far as I’m concerned the feds can stay away, Obamma knows he’s going to lose Texas anyway, so why would he bother helping us.. I can tell you after the way the feds treated our local hero’s that it’ going to have to be bad before we ever call them for anything again.

The fires in TX are an awful thing. The area around Possom Kingdom lake had a bad fire. We have had our share of them in OK as well. Used to be the feds were there right away with their aerial tankers. Not any more.

Cattle often die in those fires. Several years ago i helped a friend put down 36 head of his cattle that were standing there mooing with their hair burned off. What a pitiful sight.

Right, my place is at Possum Kingdom and there were cattle that had to be put down around here, and yes it was pitiful sight.
