Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default When will we say, "it's enough?"

The White House also released a letter from the president on April 22 requesting two certified copies of his original certificate of live birth. Also released was a letter from Loretta Fuddy, Hawaii's director of health, approving the request. The president's personal counsel, Judith Corley, traveled to Hawaii to pick up the documents and carried them back to Washington on a plane. The documents arrived at the White House around 5 p.m. Tuesday.

And we wonder why there is no monies for a raise in the monthly SS check for the elderly? Why a cut back in benefits to the Veterans of Foreign wars?
Five dollars and 2 days would have had them delievered in 2 days. How much did it cost the tax payers to send a plane to pick up two pieces of paper?

a truckload of greenbacks, that's for sure. This is a dead issue...as long as the bonobo sullies the hallowed halls of government, we must suspend our sense of propriety, good taste, and high sensibilities.

I'm not going to blame the white house for the procedure they followed to produce this document that has been demanded by so many. Arguably they needed to send a trustworthy person to obtain the subject document to guarantee a train of document authenticity. Was that why they did what they did? I don't know. Is that a valid reason? I don't know. It just seems that this is pretty far down the list of things to beat up the administration for. There are plenty of other things to go after. I'm not an Obama supporter, by the way.

I agree. Folks have been pestering and pestering and now, in a highly visible, traceable and verifiable way, they've beeen accomodated. So...time to move on. There is more than enough ass-clownery out there at the hands of democrats to bury them in the next election, both senatorial and presidential. But we gotta move on with it and take the fight to these pukes and stop bringing up inconsequential things.

If that's all he has to run on the next term, he's in pretty bad shape, but you can get he will bring it up for sure!

Why should this cost the taxpayer anything? This is a personal issue, not official government business. If the adminstration even tried to bill the taxpayer, a big stink should be raised.

I agree, but Gonzo is not worried, the public has plenty of money.

It's nice that Obama wanted to stop wasting time and resources on this non-issue, but felt compelled to fly to Chicago and tape an episode of Oprah devoted to it.

Anything for Oprah...seeing how she was probably the biggest reason why he got elected. She could sell ice to an eskimo...

If O had some nads he would've told those who needed to know to go get it. Right on the tv looking into the screen he should've said to whoever was in charge of releasing it to pass out as many copies as asked for. Then do something give out birthday cake to 1000 homeless shelters.
