Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Republican-hired firm ends gay marriage ban work

Cipher this for me? I don't understand who's doing what or why. Did Clement quit his job with the firm because the firm quit the case over criticism or what?

Found a new to me site some of you may like.

>>ATLANTA (AP) — A law firm hired by Republican lawmakers is dropping its work defending the federal gay marriage ban amid criticism by advocacy groups.
King & Spalding chairman Robert Hays Jr. said Monday that the Atlanta-based firm had filed a motion to withdraw from its involvement in fighting legal challenges to the federal Defense of Marriage Act.
The Republican leadership of the U.S. House had retained one of the firm's attorneys, Paul Clement, after the Obama administration directed the U.S. Justice Department to stop defending the law in court.
Clement, a former U.S. solicitor general, said he was resigning because the firm abandoned a client "in the face of hostile criticism."
The Human Rights Campaign and several gay rights groups had planned a news conference Tuesday to protest the firm's involvement in the case.<<

Republicans took up the fight the AG was suppose to do on behalf of the American people. The Republicans were also talking about deducting the fees directly from the AG's budget.

I think it died from lack of interest.

That's what I got from it, they dropped it because of the criticism.

After reading it again I think Clement quit his job with the firm because the firm couldn't handle some criticism.

Kind of like that guy.

Saw the other day that the judge who struck down prop 8 in Cali. was a homosexual and never cleared it up before taking on the case.

At least one man in this whole mess has some standards.
