I think he is an idiot for accidentally discharging his firearm into his floorboard in his car!!! What a dummy! As to his protest action . . . I don't see the point of that or of burning Korans. But maybe there is more to this than meets the eye.
Maybe Jones is taking a play from the Alinsky "Rules for Radicals" book? I bought my copy last year and read it with much interest. I ought to read it again. One of the tactics laid out in this book is to try to goad your adversary into action . . . the hope being that the adversary will do something that puts them in a disadvantageous light. Is this Jones's intention? Perhaps not. Maybe he is just an idiot.
I found it interesting that a court deemed it appropriate to compel Jones to either put up a substantial "peace bond" or submit himself to a trial (I assume the trial -- which may be the wrong word -- is directed at answering the question whether Jones intends to precipitate a riot or other disturbance of the peace). Is this customary? Is this done when left wingers stage a public protest? Does this constrain Jones's first amendment right to free speech and peaceably assemble? Where is the ACLU when you need them?!!! Do you think some of their lawyers will be sitting at Jones's right hand at the trial in Detroit today?
Yep, people have rights to do all kinds of stuff. However, a savvy guy does not do some of that stuff. By the same token, Muslims in Detroit have a right to burn the Bible in the street outside Jones church. But they won't do it.
This man is a hero! The only problem with terry jones is that theyre arent more brave folks like him out there, these days. These muslims are nothing more than thugs and bullies and the only reason they are becoming more and more emboldened in their effort to destroy western society, is because we have become a bunch of cowards who take cheap shots at easy targets like sen. jury found him guilty of trying to incite violence, I guess. I really don't understand "just what" the charge actually is myself. Anyway, was ordered to pay one dollar peace bond, and the idiot refused, and was ordered to jail. I guess once he got into Wayne County Jail (probably the worst in the state) he decided the $1 wasn't a "bad idea" and decided to pay it.

and just what do you base that brilliant analysis on?, you know the man? you know his ego? As far as I can tell, hes taking a stand for what he believes, without giving a rats ass about political correctness, too bad thats so rare these days.
