Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default So the rich don't pay enough?

So as we have heard many on the left who constantly complain the rich don't pay enough despite the to 10% pay 73% of the income tax in America. The bottom 40% profit off the federal government. It's bad enough to make the rich pay your tax bill in America, but making a profit off the federal government? Can we start by getting that number to zero?

The bottom 40 percent, on average, make a profit from the federal income tax, meaning they get more money in tax credits than they would otherwise owe in taxes. For those people, the government sends them a payment.

Yep... Refundable tax credits should go. My son made $1600 last year working part time after school, but, because of the "Making Work Pay" tax credit, he'll get a tax "refund" of $85, even though he had -0- federal income tax withheld from his checks. I figure it as wealth redistribution from me to him, using the government as a middleman, since he got too old for me to claim him for a "child tax credit" this year, which cost me an extra $1000, and the refund will pay for a couple tanks of gas that he won't have to hit me up for...

The only reason they want to tax the rich and ONLY reason is so they can spend more. Democraps only know one thing, spend everyone's money and borrow all you can.

As Rush said today, its not necessarily a spending problem but a redistrubution of wealth problem. When you have over half the population living off the backs of the providers, it can't continue. Furthermore, I understand that the cut off for the top 10% is 108K/year. That's defined as rich in America these days and that's not a lot of money by any means.
