Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

We already have 70. I know parts of New Mexico have 75.

Hey, they do that already, I was driving home from Tucson and west of Van Horn going east bound, I was driving just a little fast around 105 mph, I was passed by two cattle trucks they had to be going 120 mph.
That is a desolate part of I-10. We need something in that stretch to keep us awake.

Hehehe....that's it exactly....the FUNCTIONAL speed limit is that speed motorists can get to, without the cops grabbin' em...hehehehe

In NJ, you follow a 'bait car'....there's always some idjit who's hell bent on breaking Mach 1 so if you follow him about 1/3 to 1/2 mile back, the cops can feast on the terminally stupid long before you pull over to the far lane and slow down to 20mph below speed limit...hehehehe

Oh, wait, you are talking about the POSTED speed limits in Illinois! I thought for a minute you might have been talking about how fast people actually drive! When ever I drive along I-55 between Springfield and Bloomington, people with "Land of Lincoln" license plates are burning up the road -- much faster than 55 MPH. Why not just raise the friggin' speed limit ot 75 MPH, that's what everyone is driving on those roads!
