Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default School vouchers pass muster

Way to go AZ for getting a voucher system established. Let's hope other states follow suit and give the power back to the parents.

Sounds great but it's only $500. That's peanuts compared to tuition at our local parish school.

Tell me about it. I'm going to have 2 in high school next year. I remind the kids all the time that I'm giving up a Ferrari for them.

as long as "Bumbling Barry" sends HIS OWN kids to private school, there will be no vouchers. The first thing a successful 'community organizer' does is get the heck outta 'the community'....

how is this giving the parents power? It's another welfare program for a select group. In no way will the tax burden be reduced and the parents will be using money they pay out first. Many people with no connection to education will still be taxed just as before with no vouchers for them. It's a food stamp program that will fund the creation of more governmentally funded schools and then they just keep adding regulations to the schools. In the short run the government will grow and more dollars will be needed to run the newly formed department of school vouchers. Abuse will be rampant.

I here Ohio is talking about it, but something keeps nagging me. Years ago, I do believe it was 3-4 governors ago, the state SC ruled the way the system was being paid for was un-constitutional. It has never been addressed. At that time and because of the ruling the local school district passed a levy based on income because they said the local property tax way was going to be eliminated due to the ruling. Since then the only change has been an increase in property tax's with the additional income tax's. And your all giddy about a crummy voucher big daddy is giving out?

Government is not the answer.

Yes we have Kat2. You couldn't be further off base. How in the world does it not give more power to the people. When ever people get to keep more of what the earn, that's giving more power to them.

$500 dollar waivers compared to $2,537 a student for ADA. (Texas average allotment)

In the words of the anti-gunners: I see it as a positive FIRST STEP
This is part of a larger, more comprehensive plan to assist in a quality education for parents willing to separate their kids from the public school system.
