Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default The Church is going to Hell

http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/...rch-usat_x.htm

Bishop Fred Caldwell says he will pay $5 per hour for Sunday services and $10 an hour for the Thursday service

I' ve seen it all now. I am simply amazed at this one. White people getting paid to go to a black church to insure diversity. I' m torn between hating this because its a black white thing (what would blacks say if it were the other way around ??) or hating it because its a serious flaw in religious beliefs (going to church for the money instead of the spiritual aspect). I' ll hate it for both - easy enough.

Whats wrong with that??

At least it' s not the federal goobermint telling whites they HAVE TO attend, or bussing blacks to all white churches.

It' s kinda silly but inventive.

I saw the story on the news tonight. I understand this pastor' s desire to ensure diversity among his congregation, but I do not approve of his methods.

I would not characterize the entire church though as " going to Hell" because of the actions of this one pastor.

What difference does it make? Most churches rely on fear and brainwashing tactics to gain and keep members so what is so wrong with cash?

my personal opinion is that if you preach the Word of God, and only the Word without any man' s " thoughts" on the Word but taking it for what it is, that this will attract Christians of all races. And it does, or at least at my church. This story just tells me that maybe the preacher is making too much money, or that there are some needy people that could really use food bought by this extra money.

Now at the risk of someone calling me a racist i' ll say what is on my mind about this.

The way the black churches are in arkansas one could make a nice supplimental income. i mean some go to all day! do they pay over time rate?
