Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default No worry with Yemen or at least Obama doesn't care.

You're right Hockeydad, no worry regarding this third world country. They could never attack us.

But, but.... If you admit that they cannot attack us, then we cannot attack them. Is that not what Obama said in 2007?

As for this being a humanitarian mission, why just Libya? Most of Africa is in worse shape than Libya. I guess women and children having body parts cut off, after being raped is not as bad as a threat on Europes oil,,, opps, I mean to save Libyan lives.

For decades Yemen was divided. The north was kind of pro US while the south was pro-Soviet bloc. The place was the scene of a protracted civil war. There were three parties to a huge tank and APC battle that took place in Yemen in about 1987. While the north and south were duking it out, a warlord came out of the mountains and cleaned up on both sides.

If Obama is smart he will not even put ground forces in Yemen. That would immediately solidify the place. The Yemenis are among the best guerrilla fighters on the face of the earth. Yemen would be a tar baby for the US.

So, should I start sewing my surrender flag while I still have my sewing machine out? Serious, we were told we couldn't succeed in Iraq because it was another Vietnam. We were told we couldn't succeed in Afghanistan because the Red Army failed. The last thing we need right now is to retreat once again and got on defense. I say we keep taking the battle to them! If Yemen falls and continues down the path of terrorism, we go there a kill them!

The US has not yet succeeded in either Afghanistan or Iraq. The Army CG in Afghanistan says it's an iffy thing. If you want to call the establishment of a Iraqi Shia government with close ties to the Iranian government success then have at it.
