Wow!! We always talk about how the US spends more than it makes and how too much is spent on different programs, etc. If this data is correct, all 435 members of congress, Obama and Biden should be removed from office as being too incompetent to understand basic math. I know some of you have studied the US budget, deficit and financial info much more than I have, so I have one question for you. are these #'s correct?
I have heard that the "U.S." actually is a corporation...that the U.S. is not the same thing as the U.S.A. I have not looked into it too deeply though.
Interesting stuff...lots to read...I'll be trying to read thru this as I have time. I think there is some good info in the body of this site, but of course, there are the distractions on the sides. I'm sure we could poke at a number of those things, but that isn't why I linked to this: http://www.usavsus.info/

See, you are looking at it all wrong. You got to put on your liberal glasses. When and if you ever choose to put on those glasses, it will all make sense.

(15) “United States” means—
(A) a Federal corporation;
(B) an agency, department, commission, board, or other entity of the United States; or
(C) an instrumentality of the United States.

I don't own liberal glasses.
I found the above graph and went to its' source website. If the graph is true, then we are being treated like idiots by the newly elected congressmen (mainly Republicans) who told us they would cut $100 Billion out of the budget and then kept knocking it down to a measly $4 Billion.
There is no way that our government can continue to spend more than it makes as the chart shows.

If you're certain you know everything, there's little opportunity to learn anything.
Just imagine if we wiped out the 60% that we spend on entitlements and Federal spending decreased to 1.4 trillion and we actually had a surplus of 800 Billion a year.

Just to put things in perspective, they preached about cuts, but with the Demos in power and Obama with a veto, they are kind of held by the short hairs. Only thing they could do is shut down government, which would be a big issue in itself. At least they are trying to push for less. The Demos are still trying to increase it. Or even more evil is the notion of freezing spending at current levels. The same levels Obama elevated it to these last two years.

There is no reason for our government to spend anywhere close to $2 trillion a year. I think cuts could be made to get spending down to $1 trillion without being unreasonable.
Even a $100 billion cut is not nearly enough.

The government is a product of the people. The people need to stop givinig it so much business. Government's job is regulation nothing more, it doesn't have to be efficient, just regulate. People don't like it? Stop giving it a reason to be.
For the people the question is to be or not to be. So far they have said to be.
