Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default I sure am glad that San Fran is working on important issues. Ban on circumcision

Silly me, I did not know people were forced to be circumcised.

It's a screwed up city.....my family and I vacationed in California last summer; I never saw so many pan handlers and beggers in one spot in my life!

Got to love the "Everything goes" mentality...same sex marriage, beastiality, NAMBLA...should be more properly labeled "Everything goes....except what I don't like". Funny how the liberals, in general, talk about freedom of expression, but when it comes to freedom of religion.....well, that just doesn't compute!

Hope this one goes to the supreme court.

Aren't they the AIDs capital of the US? It's well know fact that those who aren't circumcised have a higher risk of contracting the virus.

now that's a VERY interesting statistic ! I wonder if it applies nationwide or if it's only pertinent in San Francisco ? Is it because
uncirumcised men tend to be gay or otherwise engage in risky and/or unprotected sex ? Or is it that the majority of San Francisco males who have AIDS are uncirumcised ? Best for that city to slide beneath the waves upon the occurrence of the next significant temblor.

FYI, If my memory is correct, it was a UN funded study (US in reality) regarding the world AIDS epidemic.

Is this not an attack on religion by the secular progressives of San Fran?

Absolute nonsense.
There are 0 health benefits to circumsitions.
Health benefits were promoted after WWII when jews saw decrease in circumsitions.
So they promoted bogus health benefits to increase the rates.
Nyu in nyc doesn't even offer circumsitions,
We have a newborn, 4 months old,
Wife asked every dr she encountered, even jewish doctors said the same thing its purely cosmetic and religious.
I don't blame a city for banning an archaic outdated practice.

Not always. My dad had to have it done at the age of 30 due to health issues. One of my best friends son had to have it done at 6 due to health reason. My friend is from Mexico, which circumcision are taboo. Phimosis is only cured by cutting off the foreskin.

Either way, that is not the point of the thread, the point is the notion of making this a law. As Eto said, it looks like an attack on religion.
