Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default How do you feel about the DNC busing in out of state protesters?

Or for the matter of discussion, any political party. I just mentioned the DNC because they are the ones doing it right now in Wisconsin. Shouldn’t this be protested by those who live in the state? Something else I find disturbing is the use of school kids. I watched several interviews last night and the school kids that were there holding signs had no clue why they were there. Most said that their teachers told them they had to go. I saw one interview on Fox, another on CBS, and one this morning on ABC. So I felt like this was not just chosen interviews for the political lean.

The reason that they are bussing in the "thugs" from Detroit is because there isn't enough people in Wisconsin that are against this bill. The majority (the ones that voted Walker in) are all for them paying there share and not getting handouts. As for the bringing kids into it: That is plain wrong!!! But these kids parents should be letting there kids know what is going on so that they are informed and wouldn't participate due to the stupidity of the "entitled." My step-daughter told us last night that lots of kids were skipping 4th hour to protest but she didn't because she has heard us talking at home about what this whole bill is about not just what these union agenda teachers are telling them.

Here in Texas, the TEA is making cuts and rifting positions, where are all the protesters? And we already pay most of our insurance and benefits. Unless you live in a very rich district.

It doesn't go down very well with me. Also, I don't think it will go down with many other people who bother to give it some thought.

I think that what is going to happen in Wisconsin is that the bullying tactics of the unions is just going to deepen the hostility of those already hostile towards the unions -- me! me! me! -- and awken hostility in others who presently aren't aligned one way or another. It is thuggery, and thuggery is not appreciated by anyone but other thugs.

Further, the DNC and Democrats themselves are tarring themselves with this same brush. The Democratic party -- the protector of thugs and spoiled brats trying to steal our lunch money. If the Democrats think that is the winning side of the issue, they ought to go for it. I don't think its a favorable position for them to be in: they would have been much wiser to keep out of the fray, maybe just speak some rhetoric.

Didn't Nancy try and call the Tea Partier's "Astro Turf"?

a couple of points:

1: busing in out-of-state protesters amounts to a fraud; it tries to portray more support
on an issue than there actually is.

2: Teachers already get paid 12 months salary for 10 months work...and they don't
pay into pensions and medical coverage.

3: back in the day, teachers were paid a pittance but the 'perks' of the job (summers off,
great benefits) were what got teachers teaching...now, they have no excuse because
they make as much or more than private sector workers

4: these protests cause union opposition to entrench itself in the state...they are
counter-productive to the purpose the union is trying to achieve.

Bottom line, I'd LOVE to see the state of Wisconsin BUST the teacher's union, much like Ronald Reagan broke the Air Traffic Controller's union 'way back when. If one state can
toss that union rat from it's neck, it will embolden other states to do the same thing.
Successs at that point is moot, because the teacher's union will KNOW that it can and has beeen beaten...they will deal, but only after they've been broken. I'm waitin' to see how THIS one turns out.....
