Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default John 16: 1-4

So I was looking through the book of John when I started reading chapter 16. With regard to Islamic terrorists killing anyone who is not Muslim, I found verses 1-4 very interesting:

(Jesus is speaking to his disciples during the last supper)

All this I have told you so that you will not fall away. 2 They will put you out of the synagogue; in fact, the time is coming when anyone who kills you will think they are offering a service to God. 3 They will do such things because they have not known the Father or me. 4 I have told you this, so that when their time comes you will remember that I warned you about them. I did not tell you this from the beginning because I was with you,

I am not trying to start a religious conversation. Just making an observation.

Ok, politically speaking, in the first place he was speaking to a few men, making a leap would be to think His comments were directed at anyone else. I think His comments were that your own will disown you for my sake just like they're about to do to me, not a Muslim religion invasion.

The book says God raises up governments to punish ones that deserve it. If we are thrown out could just be we deserved it. Governments that abort their children are high on the list of those closest to being removed. Typically when that and homosexuality are combined your the winner. Let it become global and I think the end is near. Never has it been such a global issue before.

If anyone wants to at least attempt to know what the meaning of these words are you must read the entire bible and more than once. The book is best interpreted by itself. How can that be done if it's never read. You can cross reference words, but the book is more than that, it's thoughts and idea's, similarities and most of all spiritual. You need a Spirit guide to go there.

Bottom line the words are talking about your own kind disowning you for His sake. That's rampant in this country's political sector. Only atheists and secular humanism allowed. Their synagogue's were just as much political as religious. Your kind of politics is not welcome here anymore, get out.

Now you’re talking my language, and Robert you're interpretation is way off, here's how I see that piece of scripture; Andrew was crucified. Bartholomew was flayed alive. James the Greater was stabbed to death. James the Lesser was stoned to death. Jude was clubbed to death. Matthew was burned alive. Peter was crucified, presumably upside down, Thomas was speared to death and Simon was sawn in half.

Is it true that their killers thought that they were offering "God service"?
While we don't have records of the mindset of their respective killers, history is full of people who killed thinking that they were offering God service. During the Dark Ages, the Crusaders killed millions of Jews and Arabs in the name of God. During the middle Ages, the Catholics killed millions of Protestants and Jews in the name of God. And more recently, the Protestants of Nazi Germany killed 6 million Jews while wearing uniforms whose belt buckle bore the inscription, "Got Mit Uns", which means, "God with us". As a matter of fact, more people historically have been killed in wars launched and atrocities committed in the name of God than any other cause.
Just my opinion, scripture can be interpreted in so many ways, depending on what opinions the reader is holding.

The point was that people have and continue to kill in God's name and think they are doing something God approves of.

Sure so if that's the case and a very historical one, it is, people in the far past are less guilty than we are. How so? They didn't have the book or the learning to read it or the freedom to read it for themselves preparing themselves to know what is what when it comes to God saying anything.

The book occupies a huge place in history and I'd say very close to being the most influential history book of all time yet because of bigotry against some of it's followers people dismiss it and their Creator to their own peril.

Someone posted the code we live by when reciting the pledge of allegiance. Sounds biblical to me. You cover your heart and remove all head coverings doing it? The book is being used to make you pledge and you don't even know it. Be better to read the book that is used by so many everyday of your life wouldn't it?

Book says a lot about false gods, would you know one if you saw one? Next thing you know we are one and ordering others to kill in Gods name.

You support abortion, the taking of a life? Welcome to the world of the gods who legalize the killing of those who are utterly helpless in the most secure place they will ever be outside of heaven. Cruelty in it's highest form. Reminds me of a book called "The Peace Child".
