Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Cool Mississippians want to issue license plate honoring KKK leader.

It's not quite that simple. Apparently the dude kind of backed away from the Klan later in life, but still...

Anyway, I hope they go ahead and do it. It just kind of says something.

Why not? WV has signs all over the place honoring their most famous KKK leader Robert Byrd.

You beat me to it. The same guy who said;

— Robert C. Byrd, in a letter to Sen. Theodore Bilbo (D-MS),

Thats the mindset of the Demo party. They now just use the minorites instead of out right repressing them.

So, in your view MS should propose another wrong? You know about two wrongs, right?

Forrest not only started the Klan to subjugate freedmen, his cavalry was also involved in the slaughter of black soldiers who had surrendered at Ft. Pillow. By all rights, he should have faced hanging after the war.

Just like the Malmedy massacre in World War II. Black soldiers were killed then, too, but at least they tried to hold folks responsible afterward.

Forrest left the Klan not because of any philosophical differences -- he became disgusted with the violence.

Good grief, doesn't anyone read other peoples' posts anymore. I'm not proposing it. Some folks down in Mississippi are proposing it. Mississippi of course, is one of the states that had, until recently, laws against mixed race marriages that had to be overturned by the Supreme Court.

I said I hope they go along with it because it would say something about the state. Of course if they trash the idea, that would also say something about the state.

Lol--it seems that some people are so jealous of us that they have a burning need to try and slander us. It's o.k.--we understand--we'd be jealous of us too.

'Course we also understand the bias and voluntary ignorance involved with the Confederacy by many from the North. It certainly "says something" about those people. Guess they ran out of raccoon molesters to prosecute?

If folks were to be honest, I don't think their view of our great state would change one bit regardless if the tag is approved or not.
