Interesting twist on my irony thread. (Obama promotion killed his restaurant)

As I mentioned, I have a neighbor who adorned his business with Obama signs during the campaign, and has lost customers because of it. He explained to me that he was upset because he felt his business should have been helped by the stimulus, and that he was going to have to close his doors. Now here is the twist. The business he is having trouble with is a restaurant in central New Mexico. His other restaurants, which are in Northern and Southern New Mexico are doing just fine. He did not put up any signs in these two restaurants. I did not know just one of his three restaurants was doing bad, but it appears it is just the one he used to campaign for Obama. Irony? Bad economy ? Who knows.

On a good note for this guy, he just sold the restaurant that is going under. He seemed much happier yesterday.

Does he give his support to bho any credit at all for the failure, or is he a typical bho supporter and blame it on President Bush?

He has yet to eat any crow. I do not know if he supports Obama's direction. He pretty much bashed Obama for not using the stimulus to help the middle class and/or small business owners. That is about the extent to our conversations. I only see this guy when I am out at my cabin. He is my neighbor out at the lake, not at my house so we do not talk much.

I cant wait to ask how he feels about Obama's push to raise the payroll tax to help support the unemployed. It will be interesting to see how this will affect him.

I suppose bernie if one was to read into this, that one could walk away with the knowledge that people in central New Mexico not only have a long memory but are also not willing to bury the tomahawk anytime soon. Best to keep your Stetson on straight and both hands on the reins when riding through New Mexico.

Mind saying where these restaruants are at in New Mexico? I'm curious now if I've eaten in one or not.

One is named Mama Familia I believe. Not sure if that is the name of all of them. They are in Elephant Butte, Between Las Curces and Pecos, and not sure about the Northern one.
