Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Well...being the one gettin black outs, it sux, but i agree, gotta quit dumpin harmful crap into the air...what can ya do..... Nuclear? Advantages and disadvantages...solar? Is it possible to run the country on solar alone? Turbine..ig water turbines, wind? You cant always get one of these is some places..
If ya could make electricity from cold weather, well alaska would be set, and texas would be generating some power all this week, lol and maybe next..(we got 7 inches of snow ontop of our 2 inches of ice last nite.)

The easiest way to get power is to burn stuff. There is a lot more power out there to be found besides burning stuff, but it isn't cheap. We'll run out of stuff to burn some time, then the other options will be cheaper, and we'll go to that. It's the way the power industry will evolve.
Think of all the energy that is created and ignored daily by waves crashing into a shore. But underwater contraptions to harness this energy aren't feasible. But they may be, some day. There must be hundreds of other energy generating contraptions (practical or theoretical) that just don't make sense yet.

The point is transition. Obama sees no need for that. We need to get off fossil fuels cold turkey. Who cares that the worlds is highly dependent on it. Obama and his liberal pals have been working to close/prevent power plants from being built. And not until lately has he even considered nuclear.

Nuclear power plants are the answer: Problem is the crazy liberals are deathly afraid of them. Jimmy Carter saw the need for nuclear power plants: Sadly, nuclear power was rejected by the nutcases in his own party.

You could cover that whole Pool Table known as Texas with solar panels if you like......the question is, who is going to rinse them off every day, and with what water supply. The fact is that their are NO generators being built or on the drawing board today that dont incorporate systems that trap and contain all particulates, including heavy metals. The only thing that escapes up the stack is NO2, and now it is being deemed that this all too common and essential gas is evil. China is building two plants a week. Do you think in your wildest dreams that they are paying consideration to the enviroment. Dont count on it.
