Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Smile Unusual cold & snow caused by "global warming" says Algore

Although not everyone agrees.

http://www.foxnews.com/scitech/2011/...lobal-warming/

It's kind of interesting. It seems that, to the global warming proponents, any kind of unusual weather, hot or cold, wet or dry, pleasant or unpleasant, is caused by "global warming." And, in spite of the fact that these kinds of changes have been occurring for billions of years, we are supposedly at fault for "global warming."

Global warming is increasing the demand for warm wool coats, sweaters, and socks.

Just goes to show for a fact something I've said for years...."science"--for the most part at least--follows the money just like everything else. You don't get big grants, Nobel prizes, etc. to say "everything is just fine and normal--nothing to worry about here". The "global warming" nuts march on...

Quote:
As it turns out, the scientific community has been addressing this particular question for some time now, and they say increased heavy snowfalls are completely consistent with what they have been predicting as a consequence of man-made global warming.
Quote:
Other scientists were quick to leap to Gore's support, arguing that the extreme cold weather is a logical, expected outcome for our warming planet.
“It’s not hard at all to get temperatures cold enough for snow in a world experiencing global warming,” meteorologist Jeffrey Masters told FoxNews.com. “There will still be colder than average winters in a world that is experiencing warming with plenty of opportunities for snow.”
Quote:
“It’s basic atmospheric physics,” said Meg Wilcox, a spokeswoman for Ceres, a national network of investors and environmental organizations. “Warmer air holds more moisture. This fact is apparent when you see water vapor hanging in the air after turning off a hot shower. When warm air holding moisture meets cooler air, the moisture condenses into tiny droplets that will fall as precipitation, rain or snow, depending upon atmospheric conditions.”
But they did figure one thing out.

Now it’s just climate change -- so they can’t be wrong no matter what change occurs.

Human caused global warming is an unfalsifiable hypothesis. How do you show it to be false? Already we hear that the globe has not been warming for the last 10 years (maybe now it is 11 years) . . . but that is evidence of nothing. That is too short a time scale. At first all glaciers in the Himalayas melting in 35 years was evidence of global warming, but now that this has been shown to be proposterous -- some glaciers are growing, others shrinking, but even the worst case glacier shrink would go to zero for 300 years -- this reversal does not score against global warming. It is unfalsifiable!

Lets consider approaches to resolving global warming that don't involve taxes or the redistribution of wealth. It seems so patently a scheme to weaken the strong developed nations and to redistribute wealth and to aggrandize the power of the global warming messiahs such as Gore.

And I remember the winter of 80 when it was cold like this and butt loads of snow. It was suppose to be proof of the coming iceage.

Greenpeace Founder Questions Man-Made Global Warming

Patrick Moore, co-founder of the environmental organization Greenpeace, isn’t too hot about global warming. Appearing on Fox Business Network with Stuart Varney on Thursday, he said global warming is a “natural phenomenon,” there’s no proof of man-made global warming, and suggested that “alarmism” is driving politicians to create bad environmental policies. He also said he’s not the only environmentalist that believes like him:

Just 10 short years ago, Al Gore was telling us that in just 10 short years the mid-west wouldn't see snow as it once did. Whoops!! Guess again Al!!! Eventually if you guess enough times, you might get something right!!!! I wonder if he's learned yet that predicting the future is tougher than he once thought!!
