Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Swaying your Respresentative?

Okay.... most of the States General Assemblies are in session and if your a moderately concerned voter you peruse thru the bills to see whats going before the committee that its assigned to.

2 questions:

1) How do you let your Senator/Representative/Delegate (whatever) know how you feel about a bill?

2) How or do you verify that your Senator/Representative/Delegate (whatever) represented their constituants the way they should have?

THanks
Alex

does absolutely nothing
other than make you feel better about yourself
reps will vote regardless of peoples needs/wants
+20 yrs ago worked in Senator Moynihans office as an intern,
the only correspondence that was forwarded was correspondence that supported his stance on an issue,
anything to the contrary was filed/trashed.
only way to get your view across is to vote them out

Go to your state house and talk with them.. If you can not do that then you are not worth thier time.. In other words have your voice heard..

I agree, VOTE them out. I have a business partner that calls everytime he thinks they should be voting on a certain issue, and I'm sure they vote the way the want anyway.

The problem is most registered voters don't have a clue what's going on.

I have often thought that would make a great website. It would include local, state and federal issues that are in front of the various reps so voters could get an idea of and keep up with what is going on and make their voices heard.

I'm sure there are websites out there that do something similar. Not sure how you could make any money on it. Authenticating registered voters would also be an issue.
