Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Just thinking

Do you think a vacation to Egypt right now would be cheap? I'd go if it was.

The media doesn't always have to be a bad thing.

stay the hell away from Egypt.....it won't be long before the mutants in the streets begin to single out Westerners in general (and Americans in particular) for 'special consideration'.
The Mubarrak (sic) regime is a brutal dictatorship, and must go, but the prospects fore his replacement are actually worse (for U.S. national interests) than if he stays. That's a powder keg over there, and the pressure's building...I would not go to Egypt unless I had the ability to 'shoot back'.

What is scary is, if and when Mubarrak gets the boot, what nut job is going to control that powder keg?

The whole thing is dependent on if we believe the media and the current administration. They're over there reporting up close and personal. Seems all you have to do to be safe is shoot with a camera. I'm sure there's trouble but just like here politicians are not getting shot at every food store which over there they probably think is happening here.

A home school field trip on the cheap to Egypt is kind of attractive. Who knows maybe even get permission to hunt.

Just curious if anyone reading this had any first hand observations. It is the World Wide Web even though we sometimes forget. Maybe because of our discourse here those who could answer have to come to the same conclusion you have "stay the hell away from" the political forum.

Who in the world would want to go there. The people are wacked out and just another variation divided by a border of what most Americans have grown to fear/ hate. Every one of those middle east countries will turn on us in an instant as soon as they no longer need our aid. Most of the countries are oil rich and our economy isn't the only game in town anymore.

Y'know what ? Go. I'm sure it'll be cheap. I'm sure the government and the libtard media have blown this thing up WAY out of proportion just to hurt the tourism industry in Egypt.

Fact is, if it LOOKS like a turd, and it SMELLS like a turd, do I really have to TASTE it to declare it's a turd ? I don't think anyone has such an uncontrollable urge to go to Egypt that they have to go right now, immediately. But, if you do, hey...whatever floats your boat. Personally, I like a nice place where they don't try to blow you up, shoot you, bludgeon you, or otherwise 'fold spindle or mutilate'.

By the way, Egypt does not have oil. They export cotton. Oh and one other small detail...they control the Suez Canal thru which 50% of the west's oil is shipped...they are of vital strategic interest and it is in our BEST interest to see things stabilize over there. If we have to support the dictator, because we cannot live live with a militarily-ruled government or if we cannot live with a theocracy, then Mubarak it shall be....

Cairo seems to be the problem and only parts of it.
