Default Solar Panel manufacturing moving to China

nytimes.com ...
More taxpayer money going down the rabbit hole of the Green Energy scam. 800 jobs go bye bye to the Chicoms, with the promise of more loses to come.

You know, I would love to buy solar panels, but they are too darned expensive. Will China make them cheaper? If in a couple years, Home Depot will have affordable solar packages to reduce or eliminate your electric bill, would you consider it, even if they are made in China (like all the other stuff you buy)?

We are in a losing battle right now, and we can't turn the corner until Chinese workers get paid close to what ours do, or we find cheaper labor here. But neither is likely to happen, and neither party can fix it.

What we are doing wrong is subsidizing this stupid green movement. We need to cut all ethanol, solar and wind power funding. Let the market decide. There is no good reason we should waste money stolen from the productive people in this country. Besides, Spain has already shown that green jobs equal less employment.

Subsidizing is a failure, although both parties embrace it in different ways. But the "market" right now decides in favor of what is beneficial and inexpensive. Believe me, cheap Chinese solar panels have the potential of fulfilling both of those, and we will again be a step behind.

Why? There are much better forms of energy available. Solar is very expensive and can be a very dirty technology overall.

People are going to buy what is cheaper. When Americans can compete with the Chicoms then the tables will turn, until then we are cutting off our nose to spite our face.

I buy silver 3D theater screens from China because they are cheaper, better and even though they it takes six weeks shipping and one week in customs, I still get them faster than buying them here is these good ole United States. Do the math!

When I used to buy them here it would take longer, about 30% of them came in damaged and had to fight with manufacture for weeks and then take six months for replacements, all this for about 20% more in cost. Sorry America it's time to step up to the plate and compete with the rest of the world, what ever it takes!

The unions are contributing to the destruction of our economic system.

I am assuming here, that the Chinese will make them way cheaper than anyone else currently does. They seem to do that with everything. If they don't then I'm wrong ... I'm fine with that. But think, people take on home improvement projects all the time. If there is a solar panel project that costs a couple thousand (rather than 1/4 the value of your home), and it makes electricity fro free for the next 20 years, who wouldn't look into it?
