Default Gun control from the GOP

I would suggest that as part of this law...all elected officials should need to publish their agenda so those of us carrying firearms would know where they are...y'know...so we can avoid 'em and comply with the law....what a schmuck....

GOP REP. WILL INTRODUCE NEW STRICT GUN LAW
Posted on January 11, 2011 at 1:18pm by Jonathon M. Seidl Print »Email »

A popular GOP congressman announced today that he will soon introduce gun control legislation that will make it illegal to carry a gun within 1,000 feet of a federal official.

Rep. Peter King (R-NY), who has generally been supportive of gun control measures, announced the new legislation alongside strong anti-gun New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg. Not surprisingly, the legislation, which will be introduced in the upcoming weeks, got Bloomberg’s stamp of approval.

King’s office issued a statement about the bill, which reads in part:

Congressman Peter King today also announced that he will introduce legislation that will make it illegal to knowingly carry a gun within 1,000 feet of the President, Vice President, Members of Congress or judges of the Federal Judiciary. In the United States, it is illegal to bring a gun within 1,000 feet of a school. Passing a similar law for government officials would give federal, state, and local law enforcement a better chance to intercept would-be shooters before they pull the trigger.
Bloomberg, the head of the group Mayors Against Illegal Guns, applauded the measure, saying at a joint news conference the “system that’s supposed to protect us from dangerous and deranged people has failed.”

At that same news conference, King defended the bill, saying “The fact is they do represent the people who elect them, and it‘s essential if we’re going to continue to have contact that the public who is at these meetings are ensured of their own safety.”

Yep, Peter King is a long time anti-gunner. King was also a long time supporter of the terrorist Irish Republican Army: He met with the IRA leadership on many occasions. In about 2005 King did renounce his support for the Irish terrorists.

To sum Peter King up in a few words: He is a sorry POS.

Why don’t they pass a law for federal officials to stay a 1000 feet from us that are legally carrying guns, it would sure be easier to enforce. There are more people with conceal carry permits than there are federal officials!

If a law like that passed each time a federal official passed me on the road I would be breaking the law!
Dumb Law.

Speaker Boehner has refused to allow King's legislation to be introduced...I guess he sees that bloated sack of crap for what he is; an opportunistic skunk.
A good decision by the Speaker ! Hopefully, the first of many....

Can public officals really be that stupid. If someone is out to shoot someone then a law will not stop them. As a matter of fact it would help them out because it would clear out anyone who may be conceal carring that could stop them from shooting more people. I think brain cells are getting more rare in Washington every day.

I'm guessing that was rhetorical...

Wow, illegal to carry a gun within 1000 feet of a school. I figure I was breaking the law when I was retrieving a wounded goose that made it across the field to the retaining pond. What a silly law.

I guess he thinks a person who wants to shoot him will stop because of the law. He'll be an even bigger sitting duck if he believes this law will stop anyone.

He's a fat idiot...I still think that this law should be amended to require 'elected officials' to publicly announce where they will be at all times, so they can be 'avoided' .....

First of all I thought Murder was against the law in most states? Why don't we just start hanging more of them and save the states the cost of housing these pukes.
I don't know why we are in a 9issing match over more laws!
