"The Hammer" may be sentenced to the slammer today:
Quote:
AUSTIN (KXAN) - Former U.S. House Majority Leader Tom DeLay will be sentenced after being found guilty of money laundering about a month and a half ago.
The sentencing phase is expected to get under way at 9 a.m., and he could get anything from probation to the maximum sentence of 99 years in jail.
.............................................
The two guilty verdicts -- one on money laundering and one on conspiracy to commit money laundering -- stem from 2002 when DeLay took $190,000 from corporations and sent it on to the Republican National Committee, which then made $190,000 in contributions to Texas House candidates.
Too bad he isn't a democrat caught up in tax evasion. Might have gotten a verbal scolding over that (or not). Likely would have been appointed a job on bho's staff......

If Tom is like me, I'd rather go to jail than work for Barry.
Slick lawyers will probably keep him out of jail for the rest of his life by delaying their own appeals.
This is crazy, he did nothing wrong. This will be overturned. It's crazy to use drug laws to criminalizes a constitutionally protected right of free speech, which btw the Supreme Court just affirmed not long ago. Furthermore, there were different bank accounts and different money exchanged between parties. He's not going anywhere. This is a case of prosecution run a mock.

I was hearing in passing (probably on Fox) something to the effect the trial was a partisan witch hunt. If so, it's a disgrace this was allowed to continue....
