Boehner Says FCC’s Internet Regulation Would Kill Jobs, Undermine Economy

(CNSNews.com) – House Speaker-designate John Boehner (R-Ohio) said the Federal Communications Commission’s decision to regulate the Internet would destroy jobs and undermine the U.S. economy.
“Today’s action by the FCC will hurt our economy, stifle private-sector job creation, and undermine the entrepreneurship and innovation of Internet-related American employers,” Boehner said in a statement.
The FCC voted 3-2 for the new rules, known as “net neutrality,” which are meant to prohibit broadband companies from interfering with Internet traffic. Broadband providers would be required to let subscribers access all legal online content, applications and services on their wired networks, including online calling services, Internet video and other Web applications that compete with their core businesses, the Associated Press reported.
“The American people are asking ‘Where are the jobs?’ They aren’t asking for yet another government takeover that imposes more job-killing federal regulations and puts bureaucrats in charge of the Internet,” Boehner added.
Boehner pledged that the House would work to reverse the FCC’s action.
“Federal bureaucrats should not be in the business of regulating the Internet, and the new House majority will work to reverse this unnecessary and harmful federal government power grab next year.”

Ok. when will people learn abuse leads to government growth. If it does kill jobs shouldn't the abusers be blamed?

Yes government weakens and kills, that's it's function, the educated should understand that, yet it doesn't stop them from causing it. They're additcs plain and simple.

Sorry to say but like a forest fire cleanses the land and causes things to reset themselves, the propping up of the market is only leading to a world wide forest fire. It's filled with fuel and some think they can play with fire next to a drum of open gasoline. They think they're so cleaver because they bought stock disaster relief. If the government before that, takes control of the stock... and it will. It is very possible the government won't even be the one they've paid good money for and the new one won't honor (what a joke to use that word) the aggrements.

Think about it, Poland was filled with people just like us and they all went around just like us, and then Germany invaded. None of those deals struck behind closed doors, in bath room stalls, under tables, in the sewer meant sqaut. Why was it Poland was taken so easily? Your looking at it today.

A people that take 3 weeks off to make a pilgrimage on there own will walk in and simply take what is here. Might already be here.

The Saxons were the same as us and they too had an invader walk in and take what was there. Your looking at why they were able too so easily today. Interesting it was the Normans and their religion also in the news these days.

So now your accusing the people and defending the government, does the word CONTROL mean anything to you? I guess you’re content having More Government regulations! Who is going to enforce them, and how freaking much is that going to cost. People like you make really good liberals.

I may just have morning cobwebs but exactly where does nodog say he wants more gov't control? If anything, he's saying the opposite. Maybe I'm just retarded.

When did Government regulations actually CREATE jobs???

Sometimes regulations actually do create both jobs and order in our society.

I understand your premise at least to a degree. It is the same point I made for years about the need to examine health care problems and abuses. What I had been saying could happen, did. And the government grew big time.

I do agree with Boehner that 90% of our leader's focus should be on job creation right now. And I understand that only a certain balance of regulation is required unless your mission it to takeover the industry or regulate it into obscurity. Obama actually said at one point, when talking about coal powered electricity, "They can do that, they may go bankrupt (because of cap and trade he was discussing), but they can do it."
